2018 Reading Rainbow

Pick a month, then pick a color or colors that remind you of the month. For example, in July, one may usually think RED, WHITE, and BLUE. So we will be given a choice to read a book that is with a predominately red, white, or blue cover (at less 75%); or you can just pick one color for the month/examples will be given.

January (Tessa) Silver, Blue, White
February (Diana S) Red - Pink
March (Bethany) Green - Pastel Colors (lavender, light blue, pale yellow, etc)
April (Amberly) Pink - Purple - Yellow
May
June (Amber) Yellow, Green, Blue
July (Marilyn) red, whie, blue
September
October (Linda C) orange, black, white
November
December

2018 Remembrances

Pick a month and give us an object on the cover that reminds you for that month. For example, December, it could remind you of Christmas trees. So we would read a book with a Christmas Tree(s) on the cover/examples will be given.

January - promising to get healthy by starting an exercise program - someone doing a physical exercise on the cover.
February
March (Tessa) March Madness - Any BALL used in a sport (bonus if it's a basketball) on the cover
April (Marilrn) April Showers - umbella/black clouds on the cover
May (Linda C) Mother's Day - woman & child on cover
June (Diana S) Fun in the Sun - Someone wearing a swimsuit.
July
August (Amberly) Dog Days of Summer - dog on the cover
September (Amber) Banned Book Week - book on the cover
October
November
December

Amber’s Bookish Journal (introverted22) | 53 comments Does this cover count for 1.1 Kite Flying Day (2/8)
Read a book with something flying on the cover: like a bird, plane, person, kite, etc...

Imaginary Animals The Monstrous, the Wondrous and the Human by Boria Sax

Sorry Amberley, it needs to be flying in the sky there is still one foot on the ground.
But this book would work in task 5.1 or task 1.5

Amber’s Bookish Journal (introverted22) | 53 comments Thanks Diana!

:D

Hi Everyone,
If you haven't notice yet, all the tasks are up. Many Thanks to Tessa, and Bethany for the great tasks they came up with this month. :)

Two items to notice:
1. Pick A Genre (1.2)
make sure the book that you select for this task has African or African American listed on its MPG (main page genre); not all books by African/African American authors are listed that way.

2. Reading Rainbow (1.3)
This month your book color that you select is at less 50% not the usual 75%.

Diana--I pick April with its April showers--read a book with an umbrella or black clouds on the cover.

Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to add to the list myself!

OK, I'll pick July so read a book with red, white, or blue on the cover.

By the way, Diana, can you post a link with that site that takes an image and separates it into the %ages of color. I can't find it anymore. Thanks!
