Wow! I thought I knew about Anne until I start this book. Now I know some of this is fiction but I also know Alison tries to stay as close to the real story as possible.
From what I have read and seen about Anne, I can honestly say I think this is how Anne would have been. How her attitude is after going to the Netherlands goes hand in hand on how she is when she starts see King Henry VIII.
I feel like she would have never married the King had it not been for her father and uncle. She changed a lot after loosing her true love, Harry. After that I believe everything she did (even if it was forced) was for revenge for what happened to her and even to her sister Mary. They might not have been the closest of sisters but Anne did NOT like that fact that her sister was rapped by two Kings. Even if she did eventually enjoy King Henry VIII’s company
Man I can’t wait to keep reading. I know eventually the story will start to become very familiar, since we have read Katherine of Aragon, but it will be interesting to see it from Anne’s point of view.
Speaking of Katherine, it’s interesting to see her and Anne’s relationship in the beginning of the story knowing how it ended. I wonder how much she really hated Katherine at the time Henry was trying to divorce her and how much of that was just a show for everyone. Because she seemed to really like her at the start.
