I like it a lot so far... It is definitely eye-opening. But it also makes me feel a little sad because this is only one voice out of many that aren't often found in popular YA fiction. I hope this book opens up a road for more diverse people to write for YA lit.

Definitely made me realize how few books I read by black authors. This was a really illuminating perspective and an important glimpse into an American culture that I don't have much experience with. Really thought-provoking, and more than a little heart breaking.

Knowing how excited Starr would be for the Black Panther movie (it's even got Michael Jordan in it!) makes me even more excited to see it.
