I'm trying to find a books name again

I'm trying to find a books name again. I read it on Kindle Unlimited a few months back, but going through my reading history is showing less than 1/4 of the books that I have read. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the book. It's about a man who starts a VRMMO, having played in the beta test, and chooses to start a town of his own far from anyone. He builds the town and gets a crazy magic power while climbing a mountain during a storm. I can remember some more, but I'd like to leave it to the first couple of chapters so that I don't spoil things for others. Please, if anyone recognizes this book, let me know. Thank you!

the 3rd book in the series is likely the last the author had health issues and stooped writing and might have died
