Leslie West, guitarist/vocalist of Mountain, had died of a heart attack at the age of 75.https://youtu.be/JBysEkQHr2Y
Very sad to hear the passing of MF Doom, hip hop innovator and songwriter, on October but only announced on Dec 31st. Charismatic and exciting and one of the reasons I stuck with hip hop through the 90s
Eugene Wright, last surviving member of the Dave Brubeck Quartet which recorded the classic album Time Out in 1959, has died aged 97 on December 30th 2020.https://www.theguardian.com/music/202...
Gerry Marsden of Gerry and the Pacemakers, passing at 78, after a short illness.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-55524795
More sadness in the metal world with the passing of Alexi Laiho, guitarist and lead singer of Finnish band Children of Bodom. They achieve actual mainstream success in the 2000's and were a definite highlight of the C21st metal scene.https://www.theguardian.com/music/202...
Aw. Sylvain Sylvain, guitarist with New York Dolls has passed at 69.https://www.theguardian.com/music/202...
2021 keeps the misery level on 11 with news one of my favourite authors, Storm Constantine, has passed at 64. Devoured her early works, they were always innovative, exciting and strange. https://locusmag.com/2021/01/storm-co...
Phil Spector. RIPhttps://news.sky.com/story/phil-spect...
Got Coronavirus, in a prison he should never have been in.
"in a prison he should never have been in"he was lucky he wasn't in a high security nutbaggery with the ghosts of dee dee ramone and leonard cohen taking scissors to his ridiculous wigs - moments of genius don't buy you a licence to kill.

Statistically it is probably still the case that the vast majority of 'covid deaths' have been people with serious underlying health issues, and that covid was simply the thing that tipped them over into the deaths column - before this recent wave, that was in excess of 90% across many countries, and I would guess that it will be similar once the heat dies down.
Don't forget also how Public Health England were at one time counting any death where someone had tested positive as a 'covid death', even if they had been killed in a traffic accident, or some other totally unrelated manner. They still continue to count all deaths "within 28 days of a positive test" as a covid death, so it's still possible that some number are being treated as deaths from covid when it actually had nothing to do with the manner of their demise.
Yup, all a hoax and a counting problem, eh Tim? They were all co-morbidly one foot in t'grave anyways up - woulda snuffed it wi' or wi'art Covid pdq an'all eh? Meanwhile excess deaths in UK mirror almost exactly this disastrous figure. Explain how that's un- or only marginally related to Covid?I do wonder where do you stand on the Holocaust?

Meanwhile excess deaths in UK mirror ..."No, and stop putting bullshit in my mouth, please. The fact remains that the average age of those who've died is over 80, and that the survival rate is still just under 99%. Covid can affect some people appallingly (talking about those who have survived it here, not just the dead), but contrary to what the BBC and others have tried to insinuate, it is not the return of the Black Death.
Desperately sad to hear of the death of Sophie Xeon, alt pop artist and electronic producer at only 34. Was a genuinely exiting prospect in modern music.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainm...

You did 'donate' him to the devil. Whaddya expect!
I think I did the same thing to Michel Legrand some time back. Neil Simon too. But I think you have to pay for your sin by going ahead with the fave artists nomination - so there!
yes, i can't remove sydney from the list. don't want to dabble in things beyond my ken! there might be consequences...........i'll bring the nomination forward tho' - it doesn't seem fair on y'all to have to wait three years, you lucky people!
Just catching up.Armando Anthony "Chick" Corea - pianist (along with Joe Zawinul) on Miles Davis's landark In a Silent Way and Bitches Brew albums, as well as a member of Return to Forever and a solo artist. Died 09 Feb at the age of 79.
Milford Graves - drummer with New York Art Quartet, Sun Ra, Lou Reed and others, as well as a herbalist and martial artist. Died 13 Feb at the age of 79.
don't think anybody else picked this up - i'm stunned to hear about death of Tony Rice (1951-2020) on Christmas day. Amazing bluegrass guitar player and one of the most influential flatpickers ever. Took bluegrass guitar to a new level, adding jazzy influences - check out his version of John Mayall's Night Flyer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dWeg... and live at Strawberry '86 -incredible - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMm38.... Or dip into his amazing legacy of great albums like Native American, Out of the Woodwork (with Chris Hillman, Herb Pederson and his brother Larry) or his Gordon Lightfoot covers collection.

I particularly liked his lovely Voice over the Radio in so many Plays - it was always instantly recognisable and a pleasure to listen to ;o>
