Heroine must live in an apartment for a year in order to collect her inheritance!

I can’t remember the title or who the author was.

The heroine who was from a wealthy family falls in love with a guy who isn’t wealthy. Her father either pays him off or he just leaves, but when he does the father tells his daughter that he is dead. The father dies and in order to collect her inheritance she has to complete some tasks. One she has to live in an apartment for a year and she must also learn how to drive. She lets her new neighbor and realizes it was the guy she thought was dead. She faints. He owns the building she is living and doesn’t know about her father will. He offers to teach her how to drive.

The problem is that I can’t remember how it ends.
I thing it takes place in Texas but I’m not sure.

I think I remember this. Did she have some siblings that had to do something as well to get their inheritance?

Yes she did it was a sister. She was pregnant or she had a baby.
