SOLVED. Contemporary romance, part of a series, about a retreat for war veterans with PTSD

I read a teaser for this book maybe three years ago. The series is about this retreat, I think it was on an island, where former military with PTSD could go to recover / heal.
The book I am looking for starts like this: a woman is standing on a bridge and throws her engagement ring into the water (river?). To her this is a symbol that she leaves her former life behind and starts anew.
A man who works at the retreat passes her in a car and he misunderstands the situation. He thinks she wants to jump and tackles her to prevent her suicide.
