I am a personal growth, feel good type of person. Outside of my job at a public library, my husband and I own our own business. Part of our business with helping people and businesses grow; helping and teaching them to succeed. Some of this is just a mindset or a shift in one's mindset. Jon Gordon writes his personal growth books in a "story" or "fiction" format. For me that helps the book read a lot quick.

The Energy Bus is about a man who thinks everything is going wrong for him. One morning a flat tire sends him spiraling and he ends up having to ride the public transportation bus. On the bus, named the Energy Bus are people who were in this man's same shoes at one time. Two weeks of riding the Energy Bus turns a man's downturned life into one of a postive life....in both his job and his marriage.

Two quotes from the book that stuck with me are:

"Everything happens for a reason. Every person we meet. Every event in our life. Every “flat tire” happens for a reason. You can choose to ignore it or ask what that reason is and try to learn from it. Every problem has a gift for you in its hands. You can choose to see the curse or the gift."

"You are the driver of your bus. It’s the most important of the rules because if you don’t take responsibility for your life and control of your bus then you can’t take it where you want to go. If you’re not the driver, then you’ll always be at the whim of everyone else’s travel plans."
