Amanda Harris I read this for my book club and was a little disappointed. I am trying to remember the title of another historical fiction novel that featured children on an orphan train that I liked more. Orphan train was not in the title of that book. It involved Irish siblings who first end up in the children's aid orphanage in New your and then later on the train and they are eventually separated. The siblings are mixed gender, I think the main character is the oldest boy??? It is not My Notorious Life. It is older than Orphan Train but I think came out in the last few years. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Thank you for the help.

If you like, try the group "What's the Name of That Book?". It's very helpful. :)

frugalitymom A Family Apart A Family Apart (Orphan Train Adventures, #1) by Joan Lowery Nixon This is the first in the series and it is about an Irish family that was sent on the orphan train by their mother.

Yes! I think this was it. I do not usually read books labeled as Christian fiction but I am pretty sure this was it. This book did not have any hype like Orphan train but I liked it better. Now I can mention it when I go to my Orphan Train book club discussion. Thank you!

Could it be “The Midnight Train Home” by Erika Tamar ?

Jean "The Chaperone" by Laura Moriarty is also about an orphan train rider and is a better read than "The Orphan Train."

I just finished this book and even though I was disappointed in the ending I do agree that that it was much better written than Orphan Train.
