SEO DONGHAskilled vocalist

Twenty-eight years old. If he is a skilled vocalist, he is
an ex-B. D. Entertainment trainee who was supposed
to debut as A-Prince's main vocalist.(view spoiler)

SOMETIMES it doesn't matter how much you want something. How many hours you put in. How good you are. At age nineteen, Lim Dongha was one of B.D. Entertainment's top trainees — set as part of the debut lineup for their new boy group. Ever since he was young, Dongha had dreamed of only one thing: becoming a singer. And after training for seven years, featuring as part of B.D. the Ballad, and taking photos for the A-Prince press release statement, once he was so close, mere months away from debut — it was all over.

When his sister called at four in the morning to tell him their father had left, for good this time, Dongha came to realize a few things: first, that he was taking the first train back to Busan; second, that this wasn't a short-term commitment, because with Eunha at college, there was no way that their mother could raise his younger sisters while also running the restaurant; and third, that chasing dreams means nothing when you have real, tangible responsibilities to take care of. So he packed his things and left, and tried his hardest not to look back.

TIME goes on, and ten years later, not much has changed for Dongha, now Seo Dongha, except that Eunbi and Eunji aren't screaming five-year-olds, they're screaming fifteen-year-olds now, and he doesn't hear his mother crying at night anymore, and there's no longer a bitter taste on his tongue when he hears the name A-Prince. Not much changed, and then one day, Eunha forwarded him a link with the information for I Can Hear Your Visual auditions. Don't you think it's been long enough? she asked him. Ten years since he returned home. (Raising his sisters. Serving in the military. Learning how to run a business.) Ten years since he last stood on a stage. (Singing in an empty karaoke room. Dancing to make the twins laugh. Unlearning the bitterness he felt.) It's been ten years, and Dongha has learned a little about himself — and, above all else, that he's never stopped wanting to be a singer.

P A R K
D O H Y U N
┗━
A S I A NK I N G[ lead vocalist ]━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
aged 2 3+ (view spoiler)
YOU WOULD THINK the man who writes such beautiful lyrics wouldn't say such stupid shit most of the time. But, his fans would argue, that's part of Dohyun's charm. One second you're crying because of the sensitivity and heart in his lyrics from Asian King's latest title track, and the next he says there are six of us here, so that's thirty toes, and you think, what the fuck. Although his air-headed demeanor has made him a popular variety personality, it's not what he's famous for — rather, he's known for producing his group's biggest hits.

As maknae of his group, Dohyun used to felt like there was nothing he could contribute. It was something he'd always been aware of — people older than him, more experienced than him, people better than him, so he should leave the work to them. Except the thing is that Dohyun doesn't like sitting around and doing nothing; he has bigger ambition than that. He wants to do more, make more. And so he has. He continued writing music, continued begging the company to let the group use it, and eventually, they decided to take the gamble — whether it was truly their faith in the song or just to get Dohyun to finally shut up, he's still not sure — with "Fiction" in 2014, and, well, the rest is history.

Since then, Dohyun has garnered acclaim for his songwriting and production skills which have brought Asian King out of the restrictions of idol music and into the public's favor. Some call him lucky, and some call him an artist, but regardless, his songs have yet to fail him, including his work for Idol Producer 101, the winning group JBF, labelmate Blossom, and 2016 historical drama Love in the Sunlight.

JINX's leader, main vocalist, lead dancer [ 27 ]
J A N GJ E O N G - S U

RELIABLE LEADER JANG JEONG-SU, the fans call
him. And true to the description, Jeong-su has stood
as Jinx's cornerstone and anchor through thick and thin over the past seven years. As the oldest child of five and the oldest member of ten, Jeong-su has never had any room for slip-ups, for lapses in responsibility. To the public, he is known as Jang Jeong-su, Jinx's honey-voiced leader, charming and smiley, soft for his dongsaengs and fool for his fans. And he is. But beneath that lies a sort of stormy seriousness — the trait that's led to discipline that creates Jinx's 'flawless' synchronization and a (nearly) scandal-free seven-year career. Because Jeong-su is a perfectionist, and he refuses to accept anything but the best from himself and the other members.

He expects perfection, because that is what it takes to stay on top.

He didn't get to where he is overnight. He started his training when he was twelve — too young, too dumb to consider what he'd do if things didn't work out. By the time Jeongsu realized that he was dedicating his entire life to a career that might never take off, it was too late to invest in anything else. If he couldn't make this work, for the group and for himself, then he would be left with nothing. He'd already committed too much to risk giving up. Natural talent wouldn't — couldn't — be enough. He had to be better than good, better than any of the competition; he had to eliminate all the shortcomings in his performance. Anything less could not be enough. Anything less, and he'd lose everything he's worked for.

But Jeong-su is only human. As much as he tries to turn himself into something perfect, unshakable, unbreakable, he can't. It's not easy to lead nine hormonal teenage boys-turned-men. It's not easy to never miss a note, never say the wrong thing, never appear to people as anything less than an angel. He knows that he hasn't always done the right things, made the right choices. He's told the other members things in their training days that he still regrets. He's been too harsh, too critical, too unforgiving. But everything he's done, he's done to make sure that he, that Jinx, never falls from grace.

You can't succeed without making sacrifices, he used to tell the members every day when they were rookies. Now, Jeong-su has a successful career that most people can only dream of — but he doesn't even know what is or isn't a sacrifice anymore. He doesn't even know who he is anymore.

Since his debut with M.A.N in 2000, Kwon Cheol has not walked an easy path. As the maknae of the first It boy group of the twenty-first century, then as a soloist, actor, and company’s breadwinner, and now, at age thirty-two, as the founder and CEO of PRISM Entertainment, Kwon Cheol has worked tirelessly to bring innovative and high-quality performances and ideas to the table.

❛❛ The name ‘PRISM’ was my own idea,” Kwon Cheol explains. The meaning of the company’s name is this: just as a prism will reflect a rainbow of colors so long as it has a source of light, PRISM Entertainment will continue to show a variety of musical colors as long as it has artists.

“For the label to be putting out a variety of musical styles is important to me,” he says. “As I am myself an artist, I understand how dear creative control is, and I have every intention to allow my artists to pursue the music they want.” When asked whether or not the music would be public-friendly is a concern to him and the company interests, Kwon Cheol laughed.

“So long as PRISM continues to house the best artists around, I don’t think we have anything to worry about. While it’s true that some genres tend to be more popular than others, I believe that true musical talent and passion can be communicated universally.”

Many have questioned why Kwon Cheol would leave his successful career at the top entertainment company in South Korea. Surely money couldn’t have been an issue for B.D. Entertainment’s former top artist.

“B.D. Entertainment was my home for a long time,” Kwon Cheol says finally, after thinking about it. “I’ll always be thankful for the opportunities I got there that have enabled me to become the artist I am today. But baby birds need to leave the nest someday, and how can I ask for reward without taking any risks? And besides,” he adds, “I was ready for a fresh start, no longer as M.A.N’s Cheol, but as my own ‘man,’ so to speak: as Kwon Cheol. I don’t need, nor do I think I want, any labels other than that. I’m doing this to become the man I’ve always wanted to be. Singer, actor, entrepreneur — I can do it all, now. I’m taking my fate into my own hands.”

And who could blame Kwon Cheol for wanting a blank slate? Despite a small controversy which occurred after he swore on broadcast, he was able to emerge with a clean record. His former bandmates, on the other hand, weren’t so lucky. Not even a year after their contract renewal with B.D. Entertainment, M.A.N was swept into scandal and controversy when leader and oldest member Kim Do-woon was found to have fabricated a car accident and produced fraudulent medical records in order to evade his compulsory military enlistment. After Kim Do-woon’s arrest in early 2008, M.A.N seemed to be cursed.

Kwon Cheol confesses, “I didn't know what to do back then. I had no clue. These were my hyungs — the men I had trained with since I was only ten years old — and I had always looked up to them, always thought they would do the right thing.” Everything, he explains, seemed like it was falling apart, all at once. And it was: less than a year and a half after Kim Do-woon’s indictment, fellow M.A.N member Lee Sun-woo faced allegations for the sexual assault of at least twenty-three women.

During the scandal in 2009, some fans had attacked Kwon Cheol for ‘betraying’ the man then known as M.A.N’s “Sunshine Sunwoo.” At the beginning of the controversy, Kwon Cheol admits, “I didn’t want to believe it. I couldn’t. I didn't think Sun-woo hyung was capable of such a thing. And I didn’t believe it at first. But then more and more came out, and I had to. The evidence was all there. The truth was that Lee Sun-woo was not who I thought he was. I had to believe it, and although part of me wanted it to be a big mistake, I knew I had to do the right thing and speak out. He’d hurt people who had deserved better, and whatever love, admiration, I’d had for him before — it wasn’t as important as making sure he wouldn’t be able to hurt anyone else.”

If only it had been smooth sailing for M.A.N after that, Kwon Cheol laughs. If only. The reality is that only a month later, fellow member Yoo Min-hyuk terminated his contract and moved to Russia to marry the model he had secretly been dating, leaving Kwon Cheol and Hwang Joon-jae as a duo. Soon thereafter, Hwang Joon-jae was revealed to have connections to a cult. Some rumors circulated about Kwon Cheol himself, alleging that the situation had led Kwon to attempt “drastic” measures to escape the chaos and pressure of the situation. These rumors were quickly denied by B.D. Entertainment, but some gossip surrounding M.A.N’s fall from grace remains.

When asked if there was any truth to the rumors that he himself had been the one to release the information regarding Hwang Joon-jae’s cult ties as a means of starting his solo career, Kwon Cheol laughed again. “It’s true that I was able to start my solo career because of it, but the idea that I ever would have done anything to hurt my hyungs is ridiculous.”

While he probably would have been able to achieve the same success had he been a soloist from the start, given his handsome appearance, music production ability, and title as best male idol vocalist, Kwon Cheol says that he wouldn’t have changed anything. No longer “Cutie Cheol” of Millenium Adolescents Next fame, Kwon Cheol has indeed matured into his own man.

“I made up my mind a long time ago to live without regrets,” he says. “To live without my regrets, and to chase my dreams fearlessly. That is what makes life worth living to me.”

S I NT A E - D O N G━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━also known as ❛ G U N ❜

twenty-seven, male, visual, sub rapper━━━━━━━━━━━━━━A - P R I N C E

YOU MAY HAVE heard of the expression "talentless visual." And if you looked it up in the k-pop dictionary, you'd find Sin Tae-dong's debut photograph right there. That stereotype about how entertainment companies just make certain members rap because they're too hopeless to sing? Yeah, A-Prince's GUN originated that. From the start, he was marketed solely as the group's visual—a little pretty, a little handsome, a lotta sexy.

And honestly, it's a good thing for him that he's so good-looking, because serious lack of talent aside, he doesn't have much going for him. Sure, he's a perfect suave idol for fans, but backstage? Well, it's another story. Make no mistake, he's not prejudiced. He doesn't discriminate. He's simply a dickwad to everyone.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ SCANDAL

IN 2012, SOME netizens discovered a man in a series of adult films with controversial themes such as outer space, tentacles, and eggs... who looked exactly like teen heartthrob GUN. Before anyone could stop the spread, the issue became viral, and GUN—along with A-Prince and their agency—were under fire.

Eventually, the issue blew over, thanks to the undying support of A-Prince's loyal R-Princesses. A-Prince and GUN's fans shared their love and support via images on SNS. (See: 1, 2, 3, 4)

The truth is that Sin Tae-dong really never was in any of the adult films. Before debut, however, he had been seeking to make a little extra money, and had attempted to get himself a job doing such activities. He did not ultimately partake in them; the casting employees said he was too bad of an actor.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ SECRET

IT'S NO SECRET to the more experienced artists in the industry, but, you know, Sin Tae-dong is a man (oh, is he~); he has his needs. Everyone knows the flirtatious charmer from A-Prince. But it goes beyond greasy pick-up lines; he does, after all, also have a reputation for taking people home. And maybe there's a reason so many of them are rookie female idols, or maybe it's just a coincidence. But really, if you were them? How would you say no? To the most handsome member of the kings of k-pop? To one of the most respected seniors in the vicinity? How could you say no?

Across the table and sipping from a mug of coffee, Han Donghyun looks just as good as he did when he debuted in 2004.

Fourteen years into his career, Han Donghyun is going stronger than ever. The oldest member and leader of B.L.U.E, the original Hallyu stars, Donghyun has continued to be successful as both a member of the team as well as a solo artist and television personality, making a triumphant return after military discharge in 2015. Once known as B.L.U.E's "fool leader", Han has proven that he knows how to work the industry.

"It's a little lonely promoting alone," Donghyun says, laughing. "Without the others around, I'm starting to feel my age."

Han Donghyun, 33, completed his military service in March 2015. Currently, the other ten members of B.L.U.E are completing their service in the military, leaving Donghyun to promote the group as a one-man show.

"It's been hard," he confesses. "I've always been close with my members, but I took for granted how lucky I was to always have them by my side when I needed them."

He continues, "During the summer of 2016, they called as soon as they were able to, despite being busy fulfilling their duties. I was very grateful."

In June 2016, Donghyun was investigated for insider trading. Although the investigation found that the B.L.U.E leader was not guilty of anything except mere luck, some still believed that the ruling had been manipulated in order to protect B.D. Entertainment's and their artists' images.

"I've always been honest," Donghyun says. "All I can do is tell the truth, and some people will always choose to not believe me."

"Will we be hearing any better news in the future?" I ask. "Perhaps about your love life?"

Donghyun laughs.

"I don't think so," he says. "After all, I'm married to my work."

"Oh? You're not secretly married and just waiting to tell us?" I joke.

He laughs again. "How would I even hide such a thing? They don't call me B.L.U.E's idiot for nothing."

YANG SEOJUN━━━━━━━━━━
twenty-one. male. bravo's main vocalist.

(view spoiler)

BRAVO'S HAPPY VIRUS ! Always has his mouth open in photos because he's always singing or laughing or yelling! Never fucking shuts up! Probably should try it out sometime! We love an extra king! That's Yang Seojun — internationally acclaimed K-Pop sensation Bravo's honey voiced main vocalist and perpetual source of cheer and laughter. Always shouting, joking, smiling, there's a complete turnaround when Seojun stands onstage. Gone is the happy go lucky persona, replaced with a kind of stage presence and performance that can only be attained through hours, months, years of meticulous training and practice. And that's part of the Yang Seojun charm — or, at least, Seojun hopes it is. He hopes his fans can see past his aegyo and fanservice to the hard work he's put in since before Bravo even had a name. He really, really hopes.

Because this isn't easy for him. It's not easy for a shy, introverted nineteen-year-old to be forced out of his shell by his company to be one of the main representatives in the group back when Bravo was just some nugu from a tiny-ass company expected to go under in a few years. It's not easy to always be the happy! funny! extra! member when what he really wants is to go back to bed. But he does it, because he loves his job, even if it feels like it might just kill him one of these days. He does it because he has fans, Bravo, the company staff all rooting for him, counting on him, and he'll be damned if he lets any of them down.

KIM WOOYOUNG:
On Top Of The World

From his award-winning leading role in Gardener: The Lonely and Great Gourd to the Seoul Fashion Week runway, Blue Moon's Kim Wooyoung is taking the entertainment world by storm. At twenty-three years old, Wooyoung is one of the highest paid idol-actors per episode, and receiving a rapid increase in brand ranking since he took home the title of Rising Star at the 2017 Korea TV Awards.

Kim Wooyoung's fame is not an overnight phenomenon. Since his television debut at age eighteen with a supporting role in KBS2's School 2013, Wooyoung has not rested in his acting pursuits, garnering more experience and praise for his performances in varying genres from sageuk to romantic comedy to fantasy thriller. Gardener (2016) marks his first ever leading role.

RELATED: Netizens accuse Blue Moon's Kim Wooyoung of plastic surgery

Wooyoung cites idol-actor group Blue Moon as a major factor in his recent success. "Before Blue Moon," he said in a recent interview, "I was just actor Kim Wooyoung. But now, I have the confidence to push my boundaries and step outside of my comfort zone." Laughing, he also added, "If you told my parents ten years ago that I'd be singing, too, I think they'd laugh so hard they'd break their ribs." In regards to his singing abilities, Wooyoung added, "We all start somewhere, right? I've worked hard on it, and I hope that I've improved. I will work even harder in the future to show a more multifaceted performance."

On a recent episode of KBS Happy Together, Kim Wooyoung's long-running friendship with B.L.I.S.S member ELLY was made known after the two idols engaged in an enthusiastic, revealing, and potentially embarrassing roasting session of each other. "She's known me since back when I still picked my nose," Wooyoung had explained, to which ELLY had replied that he still does. Netizens have called the pair's friendship "hilarious" and "adorable", and have pointed out how Kim Wooyoung, who usually seems timid on variety shows, broke out of his shell to show a new, but charming, side of himself.

Last week, it was confirmed that Kim Wooyoung will be taking on his next leading role in TvN's upcoming 2018 drama Love in the Shadows (working title), which is a historical drama portraying a tale of adversity and hope in the time of the Japanese occupation.

K I MK Y O U N G H W A N
thirty-twovocal trainer(view spoiler)

(view spoiler)

YOU MIGHT WONDER how a vocal trainer can afford to live in the Moonlight complex. The short answer is that Kim Kyounghwan comes from a chaebol family. The longer one is that Kim Kyounghwan comes from a chaebol family, and he has three older brothers, so he never had to worry about taking over the family company, anyway, and when you're that rich, mommy and daddy let you grow up to become whatever you want to be, and Kim Kyounghwan wanted to be an idol.

Things don't always work out the way you want them to, though, so after being turned down from two-hundred and seventy-three auditions for reasons ranging from dance abilities are hopeless to the way you keep smiling and laughing every time the talent agent speaks is honestly a little unnerving, Kyounghwan ended up as a vocal trainer, because his dream of becoming a pop star wasn't completely unfounded. In all fairness, the primary reason he was probably hired was because of low fees (it's not like needs to work for the rest of his life, anyway), but he thinks he's gotten the job done pretty alright.

Of course, Kyounghwan does more with his time than teach idol-hopefuls how to carry a tune. He's already completed his military service, and he travels, and he invests, and then he travels some more. It's not so bad a life. It wouldn't be, if his parents would stop setting him up on blind dates.

JANG HYUKJAE   |   25 + BRAVO + LEAD RAPPER + LEAD DANCER

SCANDAL | During an interview, he mock-seriously said that they should make him the leader instead. But people took it at face value, even though anyone who knows anything about Hyukjae knows that he hates having responsibility.

SECRET | His brother was offered the position in Bravo first — but he turned it down because he knew how badly Hyukjae wanted it.

Hyukjae is the annoying parent or teacher who tries to understand young people's culture and ends up making a fool of themselves. And every single kid just wants them to please stop trying to understand the memes and in-jokes and depressing humour, because adults just don't get it.

But he's also the childish elder sibling, the one who locks people in bear hugs and refuses to let go until they cheer up. The one who gets excited over little things, who frequently abandons their prescription glasses in favour of crashing into things (and no, contacts aren't an option. he falls asleep in weird places, so that's dangerous. also, allergies).

Hyukjae works hard. Between writing his own rap verses (and occasionally other parts of songs) and practicing choreography, he hasn't got much energy by the time they get back to the apartment. While he almost always presents his happy, hyperactive self to the public, around people he's comfortable with he's much less active — because he's usually worn out, not because he's not an extrovert (he is an extrovert, very much so).

SONG DAEHYUN JINX
twenty-five, main rapper

scandal :lowkey insulted bravo in a tweet a few years back. he deleted
it before anyone could accurately translate it, and bing
translate isn't exactly reliable, but the enmity between the two
groups is famous.

secret :he's had severe anxiety and depression since way back before
they debuted. around debut, it got dangerously bad — not
entirely unexpected when you're juggling high school and
being a new idol, but the severity wasn't something he'd dealt
with before.

To say that Daehyun has absolutely no self-confidence whatsoever would be an understatement. He has negative self-confidence, if that's even possible. Sure, he's good at plenty of things, but he doesn't feel confident enough in his abilities to ever let anyone else see the lyrics he writes — and he usually can't even bear reading back over them, so they generally find their way into the bin soon after being written. He knows that he's not bad at rapping — but he doesn't have the confidence to show off. His on-stage persona is a carefully-crafted facade, something he practices constantly so his anxiety doesn't go into overdrive at every concert. The only thing he's truly confident about is his cooking abilities.

The idea of Jinx disbanding terrifies Daehyun. Because where does he go from here? He's gotten used to dealing with the particular stresses of this path, and he doesn't know if he could cope with a change. He doesn't have any qualifications, aside from graduating high school. He can't act (beyond what he's done every day for the last ten years, pretending he's fine), he doesn't have the public speaking skills to become a soloist. Instead of solving the problem, Daehyun opts for avoiding it entirely and focusing on the present.

In anticipation of his solo debut on February 13, TEMPEST bassist and lead vocalist Park Minho has released an audio teaser medley of the five songs on his upcoming mini album TELL ME.

The title track, "Tell Me", was, like all of the songs on the album, composed and produced by Park himself. "Tell Me" is a mid-tempo ballad with rock and R&B elements. Also included in the medley are "Lost Her", "PSYCHO", "Make U Mine", and "Just One".

After debuting in 2007 as the bassist and lead vocalist of formerly idol band TEMPEST, Park Minho flew under the radar for several years before his acting breakthrough with You're Not Beautiful. Since then, Park Minho has continued his career both as a member of TEMPEST and as an actor. The release of TELL ME marks his first venture as a musician outside of TEMPEST and OSTs. TELL ME comes after the TEMPEST tenth anniversary album INTENT10N and his critically acclaimed role as a dashing Joseon king in Love in the Sunlight.

SPECIAL EDITIONSECRETS OF YOUR CELEBRITIESVOL. 134 OCT. 2017
 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

WHO IS HE? Name: Byun Hyungjoon
Nicknames: National husband
Age: 25 years old
Career: Solo artist, actor
Best Known For: One Spring Day
Social Media: @b_hjoon (Instagram)

WHAT ABOUT HIM?

You may already have heard his songs on the radio, or in your local convenience store. Maybe even your grandmother has been singing that song. Does "One Spring Day" ring a bell? It should, because it's the song that properly launched Hyungjoon to stardom.

Son of a CEO, with the voice made of honey, a face of an angel and a romantic heart, it's no wonder he's become the nation's husband. Teenage girls want to marry him, mothers want him to be their son in law, and grandmothers want him to be their grandson in law. You might be thinking — is this hype overkill? High Cut thinks it certainly isn't — he was ever the gentleman during our interview with him.

WHAT'S THE DIRT?

Under the warm exterior is a man who takes his work incredibly seriously. He holds himself to the highest standard, and this applies to everyone else around him as well — and if you disappoint him, well, apparently you should be prepared to face his wrath. But surely national oppa wouldn't be like that to you, right?

TELL US A SECRET.

Yeah, okay, Byun Hyungjoon is allegedly the perfect man. But the perfect man is not without a temper, and he absolutely could not stand his co-worker, Lee Soohyun, from one of his more popular dramas. And he still can't stand him.

PARK SUNGJAE + TWENTY-SIX + A–PRINCE ( MAIN VOCALIST )

scandal : someone who claimed to be from his high school said that they saw him kissing another guy in first year behind the school building. there was no way to prove it true (even though it was), because they refused to reveal their identity.

secret : first year wasn't the only time he kissed another guy. not the first time, nor the last. just the only time he was stupid enough to get caught.

Sungjae is dumb. Socially, that is. Intellectually, he's painfully average. But socially? He wouldn't know how to talk to someone if his life depended on it. He means well, and that's half the problem — because all his offhand compliments come off as insults even though they're never meant as such. And it only spirals from there — he can't initiate or join conversations without considerable awkwardness, so imagine how good he is at apologising (not very — his usual tactic is to feel guilty for the rest of his life).

As the eldest of nine children with busy parents (because providing for that many children means working nonstop), Sungjae is used to being the (somewhat) respected parental figure — and becoming one of the youngest members was something he wasn't sure how to deal with. So he reverted to the Sungjae everyone outside of home (i.e. his school classmates) knew: the awkward guy who couldn't make conversation to save his life.

WHO IS HE? Name: Park Seungho
Nicknames: Leader-nim
Age: 29 years old
Career: Member of TEMPEST (drummer), composer, host
Best Known For: Variety show Good Morning Counsellor
Social Media: @tempest_sh (Instagram)

WHAT ABOUT HIM?

Formerly known as the black hole member of TEMPEST, Park Seungho, leader and drummer of the legendary idol band, holds his own as a songwriter and variety show host in his own right. Fans and critics alike can attest to his improvement as both a musical artist, as well as a celebrity.

Seungho cites his position as permanent host on Good Morning Counsellor as one of the reasons he has his current success. "I wasn't very good at expressing myself with the other members when we first debuted," he explains. The pressure of being a leader as well as the eldest member had gotten to him, but he quickly relaxed into the role. "I'm only leader by title now, but it's much easier to communicate with the other members."

The TEMPEST member is also known for another thing — his love for dogs. He currently owns four of them — a corgi, a golden retriever, a beagle and a poodle, all of which feature prominently on his Instagram account. "It's more interesting posting about them than myself," he laughs. "And I think the fans like them more than me."

WHAT'S THE DIRT?

Although Seungho is known for his beautifully written lyrics, he's also admitted several times in public that he's never dated before, which have been backed up by his fellow members — leaving netizens to speculate that in fact, Park Seungho is in a secret relationship.

TELL US A SECRET.

All those love songs that Park Seungho writes? About his dogs. Even the ones he says they aren't.

KIM SUNGJIN
19 + (view spoiler)
CHAMPION [ main rapper + producer ]

MEET SUNGJINAs the maknae, main rapper, and primary producer-songwriter for ZH Entertainment's 2015 boy group CHAMPION, Kim Sungjin should be at the top of the industry right now. After he and the other three members of the group won their chance to debut on survival show CHAMP, they proceeded to release two chart-topping debut songs, setting a new record for the fastest win after debut for any group. Anyone could see that things were going well. Their style — Sungjin's style — was well received by the public, who found CHAMPION's charismatic pop-rock sound a refreshing change from the hip hop style which was the hallmark of ZH Entertainment groups. The future of ZH, the media called them. Aptly-named CHAMPION debut hits the Canteloupe chart roof. CHAMPION debuts with "Alone," ringing in a new era for ZH Entertainment, headlines said. They were doing great, and then ZH decided to throw it all out the window, debuting WRW (who were the losing team on CHAMP, for the record) and leaving CHAMPION on an indefinite hiatus.

(If you ask Sungjin, WRW lost the first time around for a reason.)

Now, on most days, Sungjin holes up in his studio, trying to come up with the song that's so good that ZH can't say no. There's part of him that's afraid — afraid that the Korean public has already forgotten one-hit-wonder group CHAMPION — and it only drives him to work harder to write that next big hit. Of course, there are some days that he doesn't mind the lower profile so much, after all. He'll enjoy his freedom while he has it.

LIMKWANG

LIM KWANG, at the young age of twenty-four, has made a name and a reputation for himself in the industry as one of the most successful male soloists. On a stage where not many male dance soloists stand, Lim Kwang shines, from his tight pants to his highlight to his award-winning performance.

Lim Kwang originally debuted in 2008 as a member of Hercules, a group which, despite a strong career initially, never recovered after their original company went bankrupt from attempting to debut too many groups after Hercules' success. In 2012, the members decided to go their separate ways with the hopes of reuniting sometime in the future, and Lim Kwang signed with his current agency, promised himself no regrets, and made his solo debut. Since then, Lim Kwang has gone on to be one of the best-selling solo artists, touring on multiple continents. He's created an image for himself — one so strong that companies tell their trainees to try to be more like Kim Kwang. He considers it a success.

━ Since debut, there has been never-ending debate regarding Lim Kwang's sexual orientation. He and his company have never made a statement either way, nor has Kwang indicated at either side through interviews or SNS.

━ He failed his driving test twice before passing.

 NAM MINSOO
seventeen & wrw main vocalist & maknae

SCANDAL : Tripped another contestant on NINETEEN because they were aggravating him — it was revealed that he has a history of anger management issues, possibly linked to a low self-esteem.

SECRET : He dropped out of high school for this

There are three things Minsoo cares about: his family, the other members of WRW, and himself. ZH Entertainment, on the other hand — Minsoo hates them. He didn't drop out of high school to be denied the freedom to write his own stuff, or even get to choose the concepts. Their group is divided, and it's all the company's fault for making them unsuccessful (it can't be their fault because a) all the older members are great — fight him on this — and b) they don't get to make any of the decisions, so how could they be the reason their albums all flop?)

Maybe it's not the smartest idea to outright fight the company on everything — but Minsoo doesn't know any other way to make a change, and he doesn't really care if he gets kicked out (because then at least he can do what he wants). He didn't go through an entire (stressful) survival show for this.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

This is a Korean name; the family name is Dan

Dan Beom-soo (Hangul: 단범수, born December 7th, 1993),
otherwise known as Boomer, is a South Korean rapper
singer and member of South Korean boy group A-Prince.Boomer

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Many fans have likened Boomer to the American cartoon character Bubbles, from The Powerpuff Girls. It also seems fitting since Bubbles' male counterpart is also called Boomer. Unlike the cartoon, Boomer is said to be outgoing and kind, as well as confused [1] for the most part.

Some fans, however, have speculated that he might be much smarter than his image tends to give off, as reflected in some of his deeper lyrics[2] and have since begun campaigning for the event that he does show a little more brain power and isn't reduced to "that one dumb member" [3].

Scandal
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
In 2012, Beom-soo was reportedly dating now-former manager, Kim Jangmi. Fans protested the affair, claiming she was "abusing her position" and "taking advantage" of the almost decade younger singer. Kim resigned shortly after officially announcing the end of their relationship and apologizing to the public [4].

Rumors
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
There's talk— though no more than very hushed whispers of a select group of devoted, Boomer-biased fans — that the relationship between Dan and Kim did not end with the public announcement. There's speculation that the relationship continued for another two years before it actually ended, and that his niece might not be his niece.

MEET JINWOO

NAMEMin Jinwoo
AGETwenty-four
ROLETempest's Keyboardist

WHILE our Jinwoo is not known as the face of Tempest, if you've ever heard the rock group on the radio, chances are you've been exposed to particularly loud and heinous — obnoxious if we're being kind — laughter belonging to him. Not everyone can have the good fortune of a laugh almost as nice as them. Most would describe him as a big ball of energy, or at least a big ball of screams, considering a good number of videos around the web are compilations of him screaming. And if he's not screaming, he's usually the one behind the adlibing on several tracks. His vocals may not be the best, but we love his love of the music no less. In fact, it seems like that and his bandmates are all that he really cares about. There hasn't been a single interview where he hasn't mentioned Tempest band members by name or something about them that he admires.

Unfortunately, his vocal nature has lead to a few scandals. One such being that he found himself getting kicked out of a movie theater for noise disturbance and disruption. Apparently, moviegoers had thought he might actually be dying, and when the paramedics arrived there was quite a scene when they figured out nothing was wrong with him. ( Of course, the movie in question was said to be a top rated horror movie that had been extensively reviewed for being borderline hazardous to viewers. We guess his dying screams were warranted, in this case. )

Jinwoo is not know for being a particularly good secret keeper, mostly because of his "we have no secrets" motto to any question that has the word "secret" in it tends to give off that sort of vibe. However, some fans have noticed that Jinwoo is very positive about the abilities and success of other members, he doesn't talk much about his own. One netizen on a pann thread speculated that he might be feeling inferior to the others, but that was quickly disputed and pushed under the rug.

Choi Seong Han (Hangul: 최성한), born December 31, 1989 (aged 28), is a South Korean actor, model, singer, and television personality. After his television debut in 2008, he continued to act in background and supporting roles and made several music video appearances. He also made his debut as a singer in 2010 with digital single "봄봄봄 (BOM BOM BOM)". Choi's breakthrough role came in 2011 when he was cast as the leading role in Sent 1997, the highest rated cable drama at the time of its air, and for which Choi was praised for his heartfelt and "authentically earnest" portrayal of youth.

Since then, Choi has made a name for himself in the industry, best known for his leading roles in Bachelorette's Fruit Stand (2012), Potato Moon (2013), Geppetto (2014), M (2016), and Seoul Typewriter (2017).

Choi Seonghan is also known as a television and talk radio host. He was the host of Choi Seonghan's Super Starry Night from 2014-2016, and is currently one of the fixed hosts of KBS Hello Helper.

Choi Seonghan completed his degree in business abroad at Columbia University in New York, U.S.A.; some believed that this was fabricated. In 2014, Choi flew back to New York to get evidence of his enrollment and graduation, which he then shared. Some still did not believe him, but for the most part, the issue has died down.

There is speculation that Choi may be in a relationship based on his behavior in interviews, but neither Choi nor his agency has made any comment.

LEAGUE'S KIM EUNYOUNG ON ‘IMMORTAL SONGS’ PERFORMANCE

The 21-year-old's show-stopping performance of ‘TRAUMA’ on ‘Immortal Songs’ won him a landslide victory, leaving the audience utterly stunned.

“I wasn't expecting to win — I was just grateful that I could compete at all,” the young singer said. “League isn't particularly successful, and I was surprised when they asked if I wanted to compete on Immortal Songs.”

The singer went on to explain, “I chose this song because it means a lot to me. It's very emotional, a lot like me, and I think if you try you can interpret it in a lot of different ways that all speak to different people's experiences.”

In the end, he won with over 50% of the audience's votes, leaving him very surprised.

“I know I'm not a bad singer, but sometimes our lack of success makes me question my abilities. This was sort of a test of my abilities — to prove that I'm good. Hopefully it also means that more people will find out about League.”

Eunyoung is better known as League's lead vocalist and dancer, Silver Key.

WON SEJIN     seventeen + heir     (view spoiler)

For someone who's just been told that he's never going to walk again and he's now got a 50% higher chance of early-onset dementia, Sejin is remarkably cheerful. He shrugs off climbing six to ten flights of stairs a day as useful exercise that stops him from getting too used to sitting down all the time; to him, his disability is just another obstacle to overcome, not an insurmountable challenge that permanently prevents him from achieving his goal. Can no longer compete in the Olympics? Okay, just start learning wheelchair basketball and compete in the Paralympics. Probably going to have extreme difficulty getting a job? Whatever, he's being forced to inherit the company anyway.

JOHANN
born김요한 KIM YOHAN
twenty-three+main vocalist of league

(view spoiler)

TECHNICALLY, THERE'S NO REAL CRITERIA FOR "MAIN VOCALIST". There's no rule in the book that says a main vocalist should be or is the best vocalist on the team. Main vocalists usually have the high notes, and, well, that's Yohan's job. Maybe he doesn't have a honey voice that could sing you to sleep, but he can sing those high notes, usually, if you ignore the half of the time that they're flat, and, well, his voice may be unpleasant to listen to but that doesn't necessarily mean that he's bad. (Okay, so he's not the best.)

The fact of the matter is that Kim Yohan has big dreams. League is just a stepping stone to his future success. Like his stage name might imply — after all, he chose it after the one and only Johann Sebastian Bach — he loves music. He loves making it. And one day, he'll be a renowned idol-turned-producer like Kwon Cheol. The only problem is that loving something doesn't automatically make you good at it, and if we're being kind, Yohan's songs are shit.

KIM HYUNJIN
actor + twenty-four + (view spoiler)

Hyunjin is a very genuine person. He doesn't hide very many things, and he doesn't ever hide anything he thinks is important. Where he was born, the first movie he acted in — those sorts of things are unimportant, and the media can damn well keep their noses out of it.

Saying that he dislikes the media would be an understatement. Hyunjin has voiced his hatred for their disrespect of his privacy many many times, although they still haven't listened. The media ruin his life — they ruined his relationship, they ruined her career by plastering her face all over the internet, and she was still too nice a person to hate him after that — and they never stop pushing.

Sometimes Hyunjin thinks about retiring early or starting a different job. Something where he can just sit at home and watch Western tv shows (he can't watch Korean dramas, because he's either in them or he knows one or more of the people in them) when he feels like it.

S E OJ I N Y O U N G
twenty-fourjinxlead vocalist(view spoiler)

MEET JINYOUNG. Or maybe you don't want to meet Jinyoung. People seem split pretty 50/50 on whether they love him or hate him. There are, after all, two types of people in the world: the people who find him annoying, and the people who find him annoying but are willing to overlook his personality in favor of gazing upon his beautiful face. It's true that people have a stage personality, and, well, Jinyoung is a ham in front of the camera. The issue is that he's not too different off-camera, either. He claims that it's because both in Jinx and at home he is a middle child, and thus feels neglected. This may be ― and is ― true, but really, it all boils down to the fact that Jinyoung is an attention whore. There isn't really any point in denying it when Jinyoung himself doesn't bother.

And, in all fairness, Jinyoung works this to his advantage. He's considered by most to be one of Jinx's better variety personalities, because whether it's because people think he's funny or out of sheer exasperation, he makes audiences laugh. His personality, though it may be a little overwhelming, relieves pressure from less variety-happy guests, putting them more at ease and making Jinyoung popular as an MC and radio host. Turns out that there's value in a delicate-looking flower boy whose rookie talent is his ability to turn his eyelids inside out and do an alarmingly accurate impression of a possum.

Kwon Jinhwan권진환. 26. Producer and singer-songwriter.

Seven years ago, at age nineteen, Kwon Jinhwan debuted as an idol. And that's how Jinhwan learned, the hard way, that he just wasn't cut out for the idol life. Jinhwan wanted to put out music, his music, and he wasn't getting to do that, not really, and there was so much he needed to do to please people. Smile here, laugh there, have the perfect reaction. Look perfect even when going to the airport or walking to the restroom to take a shit. Diet harder, because the netizens weren't happy with his existing efforts. Jinhwan hit his breaking point ― because he was putting in everything, giving more than he was physically and mentally capable of, and he was getting no return. So after discussions with his agency ― who were more focused on their new girl group, anyway ― Jinhwan terminated his contract and left. He took some time off ― served in the military, paid off some debt. His breakthrough came through a stroke of luck when one of his old friends called him to work on a new demo ― the demo which would become one of A-Prince's most awarded singles, "Back". From there, Jinhwan's reinvented musical career took off, co-producing some of the idol industry's chart-topping hits. Honestly, Jinhwan is pretty happy with where he's at ― he's able to do what he loves, and he doesn't need to be the star. It turns out that some good came out of those years in too-tight pants and extreme dieting, after all.

L E EJ A ES E O K

P R O F I L ELee Jae-seok (이재석)
Born January 8, 1990 ‧ Seoul, South Korea
(view spoiler)

LEE JAESEOK has a strong sense of self-preservation. He does what he needs to in order protect himself, has built a thick skin after years in the business. Supernova was as good a place of any to start his career: at the beginning of 2012, they were indisputably one of the top boy groups in the industry. And then it all was thrown out the window when his fellow member Junjae announced his marriage to his previously-secret girlfriend-turned-fiancée ― without caring to consult the agency or the other members first. Overnight, Supernova was stripped of their popularity, and company stock plummeted. Anyone with eyes could see that it was a sinking ship, and if Jaeseok ― beloved JJ, Supernova's sexy sangnamja ― had to be the first one to leave, then so be it.

So he did it: less than a week after the marriage announcement, he announced his official withdrawal from the group and decision to pursue a career as actor Lee Jaeseok instead of Supernova's JJ. This decision was met with mixed response from their fans, as some felt that his choice was justified and that Junjae had "doomed" Supernova, while others believed that Jaeseok had betrayed his group. If Jaeseok were to speak truthfully, he had felt a little of both. He knows that his departure from the group only made things worse for the other members, especially the less popular ones, but at the same time ― if he'd stayed, wouldn't he have just gone down with them?

Sometimes you need to save yourself.

And Jaeseok did: he left the idol life behind, started an acting career from the bottom up, and he's done pretty well for himself. He still has fans, even new ones, and sure, he might not be a worldwide Hallyu star (anymore), but he pays his bills just fine, he's signed under one of the biggest acting agencies in South Korea since 2016, and he has his first leading role in a film lined up, so Jaeseok is happy. He decided a long time ago to stop looking back, stop worrying over things he can't control ― and, as it turns out, there's some sort of freedom that comes with taking joy in what you do.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬   [   KANG SEOKMIN  ]   ───────────
twenty-five + soloist / actor + (view spoiler)

Seokmin likes to think of his career as a giant ‘told you so’ to his family. When he was a child, they told him constantly that he wouldn't make it, that he didn't have the talent — and then he did make it, and sure he faints sometimes and he's only just come back from a long hiatus, but he's made it, and he can send his parents newspaper clippings about that fact.

Despite his hard work and success, or perhaps because of it, Seokmin has always faced extensive criticism from people who think that his pride in his success is arrogant or boastful. He knows that they're baseless — he worked to get where he is, he earned the right to be proud of his success — but the way that they put it makes it feel like arguing with his family all over again.

kpopstan404 | March 15, 2018

Some fans theorise that the composer is Oh Moonbin, the second son of the chaebol Oh family.

The composer behind some of Bravo's Never and Betting tracks, as well as a handful of Jinx's more recent tracks, Sun has announced on his Instagram that he will appear in a self-produced music video to be released on the 25th of March.

Sun has released 3 teaser images as well as the album cover. None of the images include his face.

The more observant might notice that the album cover is the same picture that Sun posted on his Instagram. Some fans believe that his face can be seen in the pictures, however they have been unable to find it.

Based on the teaser images, which apparently come from the music video, the video will have a very interesting plot, probably quite dark.

A H NS E O N GH OACTOR
Since his debut as an actor in 2007, Ahn Seongho hasBorn December 3, 1987
gained fans for his versatile charms in multiple genres,
from horror to romantic comedy to sports biopic.

(view spoiler)

Ahn Seongho is a man of impulse. When he does things, he does them with his heart and without too much thought. Over the years, this has proved to be both blessing and curse ― and, if Seongho were to be honest with himself, more a curse ― but, thirty years old, he can't quite figure out how to make himself change. He always saw it as a good thing: It was that unbridled passion which led him to drop out of university to become an actor, and that's the best decision that he's ever made.

But it's also because of his rash and impulsive decisions that he has regrets, and Seongho is still just learning how to navigate life. Because life doesn't come with an instruction manual ― and honestly, even if it did, Seongho probably wouldn't follow it. He's always been the type to improvise, to change the plan as he goes, and to have everything work out in the end. Seongho has never had to actually face the consequences of his actions, and, well ― he's never had to worry about someone getting else caught in the crossfire, either.

twenty-four          uni student          ASHER LIN          on exchange           psychology

(view spoiler)

Asher didn't ask for any of this. Didn't ask for his parents to try to set him up with various girls; didn't ask to be sent on exchange to the other side of the world, to a country whose language he doesn't speak, to live in the apartment his grandmother died in (which confuses him — he thought she wanted to die in Taiwan, or America, not Korea). The most he can do is struggle to find a part-time job that doesn't require extensive Korean language skills (which he's probably never going to have) so that he can move out of the apartment full of old people furniture as soon as possible. And try to understand a word of what's being said during lectures.

S O NJ E O N GH A N

IF Son Jeonghan was in this for the fame and glory, then he wouldn't be a rock artist. But he swore, long ago, never to sell out and lose sight of what he loves: Rock music, a space to channel his passion through music. To Jeonghan, freedom. Most people might consider Jeonghan a stupid man ― he dropped out of high school and moved to Seoul to pursue a music career and spent the following years as a wedding singer. Any romantic rock ballad from the '80s or '90s? Jeonghan has sung it for some lucky bride and groom.

Perhaps Jeonghan hasn't always made the smartest decisions in his life. But, as far as he's concerned, he's always made it to where he needs to be ― even if where he wants to be is sometimes still a dream just out of his reach. He is not one to act without thinking; but he is someone who thinks first with his heart and second with logic. For Son Jeonghan, emotion is reason, and that might be the thing which can bring him the greatest grief, but it may very well be the thing that makes him so good at what he does, too.

ABOUT THE ARTIST손정한

TWENTY-EIGHT. Male. Main vocalist & guitarist.
Son has been under fire after publicly saying that
idols are not true singers or artists, calling them "manufactured". Despite having
graduated with degrees in vocal performance and music theory, Son Jeonghan never
actually completed his high school education (although he has taken an equivalence).

JIANG LIU // TWENTY-SEVEN + LEAD VOCALIST / BASSIST OF CINDER  (view spoiler)

Liu is your average tri-lingual person — forget a word in one of your non-native languages? Just substitute the word from the other non-native language, or if you're really desperate just give up altogether and find really round-about ways to say things. (Technically he knows four languages, but his Japanese is mediocre at best, so he doesn't count that.)

People usually have a pre-determined image of Liu that they expect him to live up to. They expect him to miss his family (lmao no, he enjoys not having his career path questioned every five seconds); they expect him to care about the politics in his home country (no??? he hates politics full stop???); they expect him to do what so many Chinese idols in Korea have done before him — leave and go back to China and face the lawsuits, etc. (funny joke, also he's a rock band's bassist not an idol).

KWON TAEMIN
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
twenty-six & drummer for cinder

BEFORE CINDER, Taemin was suffering under the thumb of asshole entertainment company higher-ups. A pawn in the system, he helped with promotions and was constantly stepped on for being too young and too optimistic. At the time, he had been naive and young and just wanted to get his name out there. The reality obviously wasn't that nice. Which is exactly why Taemin left the promotional business and joined a group of people who wanted to make a band. He'd say that he made a pretty damn good choice.

SCANDAL: burped very loudly in front of the ceo of z.h. entertainment
SECRET: wrote an asian king fan-fic but it was just the one time.

HWANG JINHWAN
─────────────────────────────────
twenty-four + film director + (view spoiler)

Jinhwan demands respect. And while arguably he deserves it (he's already directed multiple successful movies, and a handful of music videos), he's also only twenty-four and many people view him as arrogant. Maybe he is, but his movies do well, and he's dedicated to his job.

It's easy to say that Jinhwan has it all, if you don't know him. He's successful, he's (seemingly) happy, and he makes enough money to live in the Moonlight apartment complex. But despite all of this, he doesn't have what he really wants: a family that acknowledges that maybe his career choice was actually a good idea.

━━━━━( K I MJ A E S U K )━━━━━━━━ twenty four ⦁ model ⦁ (view spoiler)

WHILE THERE'S NO denying the success of Jaesuk's modeling career, he's still a difficult person to legitimately like. Arrogant, self-centered, demanding ━ he's a person who seems to be the culmination of all the negative things associated with stardom. Nevertheless, he remains one of the hottest faces in Korea. He works surprisingly well with photographers and shoot directors (probably something to do with the fact that if he didn't he wouldn't have a job) and is able to create something magical when he's on film. Who needs to make friends when you're thriving on your own? Who needs to worry about a carefully sculpted image when you could play drama king instead?

Jaesuk is well aware of the hate blogs and the comments that surround him ━ but notice that not a damn one attacks his work. And so Jaesuk keeps doing what he's doing, keeps rolling his eyes at comments from managers and keeps side-eyeing people who try and force their opinions of his persona on him. He didn't come here to be liked, okay? He's way past caring, way past trying to please people. Much like the modeling industry, Jaesuk is a pretty face roiling with something monstrous inside.

RAYYAN LEONG ]━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━[ MADDER & 21 & rapper

rayyan never had much where he grew up. There was always enough to sustain, enough to appease, but there was a gap, a tiny crack that would gape into a chasm as the years passed. Really, a lot of Rayyan's life seems like a blur. Lower-class family, four other siblings and twice the amount of cousins, being lost in a sea of uncertainty and unacknowledgement ━ it was a life hundreds before him had had. Which is probably why Rayyan was never able to shake the insatiable need for change, the desire for fame and recognition. It wasn't until his uncle did something unforgivable that Rayyan longed for invisibility, that he was pushed to the breaking point.

By the time Rayyan was eighteen, depression and anxiety had bloomed inside him and threatened to overtake his hard work. His family had fallen on hard times ━ his dad was diagnosed with cancer and his mom was forced to work three jobs ━ and the pain of his uncle's abuse was a stark scar in Rayyan's mind. He never did give up on the dream, though. Years of saving and busting his ass at minimum wage jobs for the past four years became his ticket out and stardom had never seemed so close.

Today, Rayyan is struggling with the weight of leaving of his family. But he's also basking in his accomplishments, in the dream he made reality ━ even if interviewers are sick and tired about talking about what he's done and what he's going to do. Fans want to know: where, exactly, did mysterious MADDER come from? You'd think that they'd be even more tired of the way Rayyan brushes them off.

scandal: during a talk show, an interviewer just kept pressing and pressing and pressing about his past, and Rayyan kind of snapped. He told them to stay the hell out of his business and walked out of the show. It still comes up two years later.

secret: his past is his big secret to the public ━ but the one that weighs on him the most is the sexual abuse he faced at the hands of his uncle. Rayyan hasn't been able to form a decent relationship without the shame and guilt of it rising up.

MARCH 10
DIRECTOR PAK DOHYUN

JUST ONE MONTH AGO, thirty-two year old Pak Dohyun, director, and twenty-seven year old Kim Sunyoung, actress, announced that they would be getting a divorce. The pair had been one of Korea's 'It couples' with many saying that they had never seen such a perfect pairing. The news of divorce, therefore, was a shock for many and both the director and actress are under fire. According to Dohyun, the divorce will remain entirely private and he assures us that there is no foul play involved. "Sometimes the spark just fades away and you have to be big enough to understand that it's time to move on." Dohyun stated in an interview earlier this month.

Admirers of the director and actress, however, aren't entirely sure of how truthful that sentiment is. "Why would a couple that was recently talking about another child choose to get a divorce just 4 months later??? I think Dohyun or Sunni is hiding something." One inflamed subscriber wrote in during the discovery of the news, and those of us at SKE have to agree. After all, the ex-couple had just recently celebrated an island getaway late last November and had gone on air saying that they were hoping to try for another child in the new year. And what's more is that Shiwoo, Dohyun's and Sunyoung's four year old son, has yet to make an appearance in light of recent events.

"I don't know, but something just seems off," said a fan on a popular Korean entertainment blog. "It just seems very secretive and sketchy... Plus, how come it's only Dohyun doing all the talking? Shouldn't Sunyoung have a say in her own divorce?"

While speculation continues to stir, Dohyun and Sunyoung remain reclusive with each focusing on their own respective projects out of the way of the public eye.

▸ ▸ GETTING TO KNOW THE REAL LEE DAESUNG ◂ ◂
with Lim Nayoung
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
SOME FUN FACTS
▫ Lee Daesung was born on June 5th, 1995
▫ Daesung has 4 other siblings, 3 of which are younger
▫ Before becoming a designer, he was an actor
▫ Daesung has been in the fashion industry since he was 15
▫ He only recently became a fan of Bravo

Even though Lee Daesung hasn't been in the spotlight very long, he's certainly one of South Korea's hottest up-and-coming designers. In the past two years alone, Lee's creations have been on the runway during Seoul Fashion Week and it seems like his designs have been gaining heat with hot celebrities, even a few idols. And for Lee, this is only the beginning.

"I've always loved fashion," Lee stated in an interview this week with a smile tugging on his lips and stars in his eyes. "There's a sense of pride in creating things that people want to use, that people admire and enjoy."

According to the 23 year old designer, this is only the very beginning. "I won't stop until I run out of inspiration ━ and in a city, a country as bustling as home, I just don't see that happening anytime soon." He stated with an easy laugh, smoothing the leather of his premium (and exclusive) jacket. "But it's not all easy. I get a lot of criticism and I get a lot of people trying to push their stereotypes on me. I'm just a guy who's trying to make his dreams come true, you know?"

Lee continues on to say that he gets a lot of hate ━ most of it on the assumption of his sexuality. It's gotten to the point where relationships come difficult and people he has known his entire life suddenly look at him differently. "I actually had to break off a relationship at the release of my last line. It just wasn't possible anymore and it wasn't fair for either of us." Lee said, a doleful lilt in his words.

"Despite everything, though, I'm still pushing. And I've even got some new stuff on the way." He finishes with a wink and assures me that his new line "will be hotter than anything South Korea has seen."
