Welcome to the group Cyn.

My favorite genres are romance, fantasy and thriller.
I'm Italian and I'm learning english, reading native books help a lot, but I'm taking class too. Please forgive my mistakes!

I think your English is great! It's really cool that you are working on learning a different language, I've always wanted to learn a new language. I took some Japanese in college but didn't really have anyone to practice with outside of class and have forgotten most of it :/

BTW my favorite genres are fantasy/magical realism , contemporary and mysteries. I also enjoy historical fiction if it’s good"
Mrs. Doubt fire is a great movie! I also love it! What are some of your favorite magical realism books? I've wanted to branch out into the genre but have had trouble finding where to start.
Hello everyone! I’m dashofmagic and I love all books, but especially Fantasy and YA. Kazually invited me (thanks btw!) and I’m excited to be here!

Welcome to the group :D

I'm Hana, I'm from the US, and I'm 21.
I read a little bit of everything, but I particularly love horror, womens fiction, literary fiction, contemporary fiction, sci fi, fantasy, lgbt+, science nonfiction, & poetry!!
Besides reading, I like to blog, sleep, watch vines, & play games!
Happy to be here! <3

Welcome to the group Hana! What type of games do you like to play?

When faced with an entire bookstore, you'll find me in the arts & crafts or sci-fi & fantasy sections. However, at a library, I will randomly wander the shelves. I DO judge books by their covers and thus have read all kind of things. I enjoy dabbling in most genes.
I am a crafter, snailmail fan, duck-owner, traveler, museum-worker, cusping Gemini-Taurus girl. I also enjoy board/video gaming and someday hiking if my sprained ankle ever lets me.

It's a local community museum, so it's a little of everything; generally history, though. I enjoy working here because I get to do a little bit of everything and the oddest/most interesting people visit museums.

My other book group sort of fizzled out, and this looked like a great one to join :)

I’ve been wanting to start reading more true crime myself lately, especially after listening to a lot more true crime podcasts over the past year.

I read Mindhunter recently, which the Netflix series was based on. If you have not read or seen it, I recommend doing so. It is about the beginning of the FBI behavioral science unit.

I’ll hve to check it out I’ve been meaning to watch the Netflix series once work stops eating my life. But reading is a little more easy for me to squeeze in.

I'll be Gone in the Dark is very topical (they just caught the guy!), and is excellently written

i enjoy reading young adult books. my favorite books i’ve read would have to be the fault in our stars, the hunger games trilogy, and the outsiders.
i don’t read as much as most people here, but i do enjoy it. i also like watching netflix, especially stranger things lol, and i dance. :))

At 63, I am probably the oldest here. My name is Roberta and I am a special education teacher in Tucson, AZ.

I have not been on this thread for a few months- sorry.
Welcome to the new members, young and not as young!
Susan, you may be the oldest here, and I am probably the second oldest. All that means is that we have more books to recommend to everyone else!
Also, is it as disgustingly hot in Tucson as it is here in Phoenix? Not planning any outdoor activities today.
All new members, please join a challenge or two. There are a couple of pretty easy ones in this group. The Genre exploration challenge is looking for more members, for example. It is a spell it out challenge that follows a different genre every month. Not that you have to only read the books from that genre, there are just point benefits if you do.
Also, We read all the pages, is silly fun. As a group, among those who have posted, we have read a ridiculous amount of pages so far this year.
Anyway, have fun, and again, welcome.

Thank you. I doubt that I will join any reading challenges since I have over 400 books on my 'to read' list. I just added another one today. I usually read a few pages in bed before going to sleep and sometimes I listen to audio books in my car. I've gone to the Tucson Festival of Books ever since it started and allow myself to buy one book each year, which I never read. They're for when I get stranded on a small tropical island with no library. Cheers.

Welcome to the group, and hey that challenge could be incentive to attack your to read list! You wouldn't have to be adding books just looking for books on your existing to read list that would fit the challenge if you wanted :)

I'll probably post random links to music I love and maybe talk about books a little.
I mostly read romance and I guess 90% of the books I read are written by women and about women. I avoid books that are overly violent (which is why I tend to read romance).
I hate the word "very" but I love ellipses.

This book club is perfect for me because I love to read a bit of everything, but my favorite genres are sci fi, fantasy, historical fiction, contemporary fiction, YA, comics/graphic novels, memoirs, nonfiction and travel memoirs. I really do love everything! Reading has always been my escape, and I love to learn, so I try to mix it up.
I spend the rest of my time keeping up to date with movies/TV shows, updating my bookstagram, thrifting, hiking, baking, writing, exploring, and volunteering at my local library. I'm excited to start participating in this club!

Welcome HB, So glad you decided to join! I'm the same way so very indecisive about what to read next.

I routinely double-shelve all my books and I'd thought that was weird of me until I found out almost everybody else does it too, lol.

Welcome Julia, we are actually doing horror for october and I just put the polls up if you want to get in your vote :) I alos love reading non-fiction history as well if you ever want to buddy read anything let me know sounds like we like similiar stuff!

Welcome to the group! Glad you joined and look forward to discussing books with you as well :)

Welcome to the group :) I also love to cook, what are some of your favorite things to make?

I'm not picky about book genres, but would have to say I most enjoy Historical Fiction, Memoirs, and Thriller/Horror. Oh and anything involving vampires really. :)

Thanks for adding me to join the group
I’m Danni I’m from England.
I’m kinda new to all this stuff. Can you explain to me how it all works. Looks like you have chats within chats?
It doesn’t help that I’m terrible with technology 😂 I literally live in the Stone Age

Welcome to the group Shelby! Next month is actually horror so if you haven't voted yet I would check out the polls :)

No problem! The main things is we have books of the month every month and there is a specific genre every month. But there are also various challenges and fun bookish discussion if you want to join in on those. This guide to the group thread has links to all the major things in the group with a description of what they are if that helps.
Amber wrote: "Hi! I'm Amber I'm 29 years old and live in Texas. I'm currently a stay at home mom and i love to read! I usually read just about everything! I have 7 children and two dog, Coco and Godzilla."
Welcome to the group. I was actually born in Texas and lived there almost my whole life. I've been in Louisiana for about 2 years but may be moving back in the near future.

I am a huge Potterhead, as well as Friends, Buffy, Disney & all things Stephen King. He and Kristin Hannah are my favorite authors. Other than that, I love reading psychological thrillers, horror, YA, chick lit, cozy mysteries, true crime, memoirs, nonfiction, magical realism.... pretty much everything!! =) The only 2 genres I'm iffy on are romance and sci-fi but I will give any book a chance if its recommended highly enough.
Glad to be here!

Welcome to the group! Hope things go smoothly with your move. I'm about to be moving myself.
