Ok, not totally sure if this works or not, but how about To Your Scattered Bodies Go I never did finish the series (I get tired of waiting or loose track of the series if it takes more than a few months between books) but I thought I'd toss it out there.

Kresley Cole has one of the books in her Immortals After Dark series with this premise. One of the Valkyries is constantly pursued by a Berserker who always dies within days of their meeting up again. But I can't remember which one right now. Sorry.
