Resetting the number of times a book is read

There is a FAQ entry about how to indicate whether you've read a book more than once, but I can't find anything about resetting a read count to 1 when the re-read count is wrong. I've tried editing my book review and verifying that only one "finished" date is applied to the entry in question, but apparently my original hunt for the proper edition fooled the algorithm into thinking I'd read a book 4 times rather than just once. An X (removal) option disappears from next to relevant fields before I can apply it to editions I did not read. How do you re-set the reading number?
