Colleen Palladino | 23 comments The Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher was a lot different from what I expected. For the most part it is a book about the affair she had with Harrison Ford on the first Star Wars movie. Since I only knew the headlines of this story it was very interesting to hear her side. Reading this book made me miss Carrie Fisher so much more because I really felt like I got to know her on some level. I highly recommend that everyone pick this book up for a little Carrie Fisher love! :)

Colleen Palladino | 23 comments Saga Volume 8 by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples is the next volume in the epic Saga ride. I love all the characters and the little side stories. This volume definitely had the best ending with no big cliffhangers.

I don't buy single issues just because I don't like them. I would read single issues in 2 minutes and want more, so I would rather wait for the trade.

I'm the same way! I am far too impatient for single issues. Especially when it feels like nothing happens with how short they are. I got the first volume of Saga for Christmas so I'll be starting it soon!

I'm glad someone agrees with me on this, when I went to comic con in Philly there were so many booths with single issue comics, but only one booth with trades. The only problem I had was the weight of my backpack the rest of the day. :)

Blagica | 12949 comments Two down 40 to go! I hope you have a great month falling in love with a new book this coming month.

Colleen Palladino | 23 comments Nerd Do Well by Simon Pegg ended up in my Audible queue by crazy random happenstance. On Friday, February 16 I didn't feel like listening to my music at work so I pulled up Audible and finished this book by the end of the day. It was so much fun listening to Simon give stories about his life, as well as a fictional story hidden between chapters. There were a few stories I didn't know about him, but my favorites were anytime he talked about Nick Frost because that friendship is goals.

Colleen Palladino | 23 comments I have read/listen to You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost) by Felicia Day many times since its release. I get so much inspiration from her book that I instantly want to create something myself.

Colleen Palladino | 23 comments I finally finished Zenith Book 1, most people on Goodreads seem to really hate this book based on the authors. I disregarded the authors while I was reading and it was actually pretty interesting. There were a lot of similarities with The Throne of Glass series, but it definitely had it's own spin on it. I will continue with book 2 especially with that ending!

Colleen Palladino | 23 comments The Nerdist Way by Chris Hardwick was another audiobook I turned on at work. It was really fun to listen to, and it even had a RPG play along aspect to it. I knew Chris feel down the rabbit hole of drinking and depression, but I never knew how far it went. I would recommend this book to any nerd that just want to enjoy their burrito!

Colleen Palladino | 23 comments Orphan Black is my all time favorite show! I thought it was an interesting concept to see what would happen if the one event that kick started the show changed. I think the show's version was better, probably because I like Sarah better than Beth. After reading this I definitely feel like a rewatch is in order.

Colleen Palladino | 23 comments I really liked They Both Die at the End, I thought I knew what was going to happen, but it turned out to be more emotional and heartbreaking. This was my first Adam Silvera book, and I need to get my hands on his others. BRING ON THE EMOTION!

Colleen Palladino | 23 comments I have read/listened to Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of Universe multiple times. This is one of those books that gives me the butterflies, falling in love feeling that everyone loves. The story is wonderful and different from what I usually read. I decided to listen to it again because I forgot my iPod and needed to listen to something at work. Plus Lin Manuel Miranda :)

Colleen Palladino | 23 comments Kristin wrote: "I love the Saga series so much I added it to our Timeless Classics series. I want to reread the earlier trades before reading Vol 8. Glad you liked it! I've also wanted to read your last two books,..."

It is one of my favorite audiobooks! It really just makes me smile :)

Colleen Palladino | 23 comments Gemina is a fantastic second book in the Illuminae Files. It is a lot of fun to read and very different from other science fiction I have read. I can't wait to get the third book, even though I heard it is concluded after that, hopefully happy ending for my favorite character: Ella.

Blagica | 12949 comments A book is a dream that you hold in your hand. I hope that April brings you many more five star reads.

message 20: by Colleen (new)

Colleen Palladino | 23 comments Bingo Love was a lovely graphic novel about what true love really looks like. These two women love each other more than anything, but because of the times they could not be together. It took seeing each other again decades later to realize love can last as long as it can.

message 21: by Colleen (new)

Colleen Palladino | 23 comments Don't Call Us Dead is a poetry collection that was hard to read at times. I always feel like I need to read poetry out loud to keep it's meaning, that didn't change with this collection.

message 22: by Colleen (new)

Colleen Palladino | 23 comments I'll Be Gone in the Dark is a terrifying true crime book about the search for the Golden State Killer. It was incredible that he was caught while I was reading this book. While I was reading it, I felt like I had to put the puzzle together about who this mad was and is today. The Afterword by Patton Oswalt killed me. . . emotionally.
