Danielle's 27 Books!

Things have been going really well so far. I think I'm a bit ahead of schedule for once but I'm not sure how long that's going to last.
I've already finished:
Alanna: The First Adventure by Tamora Pierce (which a friend recommended to me. It wasn't the best thing I've ever read but I still enjoyed it and I'll finish the series if I find the time.)
Pond by Claire-Louise Bennett (which I admit I didn't finish. I'm sure it can be a great book but I don't really have the attention span to read about porridge and gardening for too long.)
and The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss (which was just as amazing as the first time I read it.)
I'm currently reading:
A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakspeare (I'm reading it for class but it still counts :p)
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne
and The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien (still)
All of the books I'm currently reading are not a 100% priority. Twenty Thousand Leagues and the Silmarillion are both kind of difficult for me to read and I prefer something fun to read during school so I know I'm going to end up starting something else soon.
Happy reading!

So far my finished list includes:
Alanna: The First Adventure by Tamora Pierce
Pond by Claire-Louise Bennett
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
and A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare (which I really enjoyed! It was good to read a Shakespearean comedy rather than the tragedies we've been reading :) )
I'm currently reading:
The Bees by Laline Paull (I'm really enjoying this one! It's much darker than I expected from the plot summary)
The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien (which I haven't read in 7 or 8 years. This is turning into a year of re-reading some favorites!)
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne
and the Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien
Happy reading!
~Danielle

My completed list for the year is:
Alanna: The First Adventure by Tamora Pierce
Pond by Claire-Louise Bennet
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfus
A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare
and The Bees by Laline Paull (I had a couple major issues with this book, but overall the story was very enjoyable)
I'm currently reading:
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen for my February TBR Twins :)
The Autumn Republic by Brian McClellan
The Fellowship of the Ring by JRR Tolkien
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne
and The Silmarillion by JRR Tolkien
I'm hoping to keep my currently reading list at no more than 5 books so that I don't overwhelm myself. So I'll keep my fingers crossed that my willpower is great enough to avoid all those interesting summaries.
Until next time!

That’s normal Danielle. We all have our ups and downs in reading pace. Sounds like you’re doing great! Looking forward to your update next month!

My (updated) completed list so far is:
Alanna: The First Adventure by Tamora Pierce
Pond by Claire-Louise Bennet
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfus
A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare
The Bees by Laline Paull
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (which I'm proud of myself for reading! After my first Austen novel I feel like I can truly call myself a lover of books :) )
Coraline by Neil Gaiman (I wasn't a huge fan of this book. I always love the movies based on his books, specifically Coraline and Stardust, but the books always disappoint me)
The Autumn Republic by Brian McClellan (which I did not finish. I love the first two powder mage books but this one is so long and I couldn't get invested so I sadly had to drop it)
and Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne (F i n a l l y ! It only took me almost a year but it was a good read. Just very very slow)
I'm currently reading:
A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
The Silmarillion by JRR Tolkien
and The Fellowship of the Ring by JRR Tolkien
I'm still on schedule for the end of the year and so far I've read a lot of books that I've really loved! Hopefully this year continues to be a great one :)
Until next time!

I was on spring break this week so I had plenty of free time to read. My completed list now includes:
Alanna: The First Adventure by Tamora Pierce
Pond by Claire-Louise Bennet
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfus
A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare
The Bees by Laline Paull
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Coraline by Neil Gaiman
The Autumn Republic by Brian McClellan
and Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne
We Were Liars by E. Lockhart (I adored the beginning of this book. The family emotion really resonated with me, but there was a plot twist that I did not really like)
and Candide by Voltaire (Interesting book! I had to read it for school but I enjoyed the philosophy)
I'm currently reading:
Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin
The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss
A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
and The Fellowship of the Ring by JRR Tolkien
Thanks again everyone for being so encouraging! It seems like I might exceed my goal this year by a couple books which is very exciting. I'll update soon <3

Looks like you're on a roll Danielle! 👍
Technically, my Goodreads reading challenge is set at 25 books but I finally got my own copies of the first two books in the Kingkiller Chronicles (The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear) for Christmas! Since they're my favorite I plan on reading them again so I'll count them here.
I still have books that I haven't finished from last year so (as usual) I've already bitten off more than I can chew. So I am currently in the process of reading:
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
Alanna: The First Adventure by Tamora Pierce
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne
and The Silmarillion by JRR Tolkien (which I absolutely adore but is definitely on the back burner right now due to the dense writing style :p)
I hope to actually finish a few of these before starting new books but knowing my weak willpower I'll fall to the temptation of an interesting book summary. Wish me luck :)
