Magazines with ISBNs okay?

I think if they primarily published short stories/original fiction it would be acceptable, but not sure since they seem to go far astray from that.

As a general principle, text-based objects with ISBNs are probably OK as books. They are also acceptable as ebooks when released as a Kindle edition for a SPECIFIC issue (e.g. the January 2012 issue), but not as a single record for the whole periodical.

As Elizabeth notes above, in the case for Literary Magazines, which this does seem to just about come under, we're usually fine adding them. Just be careful that it is an ISBN (10 or 13 digits) not an ISSN (8 digits). ISSNs refer to an entire run of a periodical, whereas an ISBN will refer to an edition of a single issue.

With regards to other issues without ISBNs, the current policy is that these are not books, and should therefore not be added to the database. There is currently some discussion about this specifically with regards to Literary Magazines, but until this is resolved we should not be adding new ASIN/ISBN-less magazine records.
