combining translations

How do I combine translations of the same book to languages with a different alphabet such that they are guaranteed to not be on the same page unless the author have few enough books?

Most of us have a pet workaround for doing this. My personal one is to add random numbers to the end of two records (one on the loose edition and one on a random book in the main "stack"), then search for that number on the Combine page. This forces only those editions to show.

If you do this though, don't forget to go back and fix your workaround!
