Katheryn Avila (katheryn_avila) | 0 comments I've been having the same problem! There was a time when I went through books like they were oxygen. I think it's similar to writer's block, though - you just have to force yourself to read. Find a book you know you'll love and run with it. That's what's helped me before.

Stephen (havan) | 5 comments Acceptance and time are also ways to defeat a reading slump. I tend to go in cycles and have periods where I'm an avid reader and other periods where I slack off for a while.

Of course I also tend to have a number of books going at once so that I'm more likely to have something to hand that fits my mood.

I've also found that having an audio-book in the mix is good in that it's a very different experience. Course my best friend growing up had a blind grandparent so listening to good books that I probably wouldn't read in any other format was an early habit.

Roger Jackson I hadn't read anything for some time. Nothing seemed to hold my interest. Then I got a book at a Christmas party this year. I enjoyed it so much I got more books by that author. I'm back to reading again.

Somtimes it takes finding something worthwhile to read.

Tsubaki (tsubakistar) | 1 comments I think it's a cycle. I'd go through periods of not wanting to read anything at all, then cycles where I dedicate every second of free time to reading.

To get back into the reading, I usually pick up something short/light that I can finish in one sitting. I'm all about instant gratification.
