I'm at 25% and I'm not sure how I feel towards the characters or the plot. I'm getting Divergent vibes, as well as all the other dystopian books that include casts or different houses or colors, any division between people which result in different groups or communities. As well as the rebels.

I'm around 50% and after some bike spinning will continue. Probably will be done within a couple of hours.

I'm wondering though how you gave it 4 stars. So far I haven't seen anything impressive. Right now it's about 3 stars. Not bad but meh.

Yeah in the end I gave it 4 stars as well, I think the beginning and the first half as a whole were very weak and if it weren't for the events in the second half I would've given a slightly different rating.
It irks me that Bryn is so whiny, but hey, nobody has tried to kill me so maybe we should let up on her. Nah, she should stop being such a brat. I like Zavien but there is something suspicious. I dunno truly, can't put my finger on it. I do want to see if she warms up to Jaxon, I feel a potential for amazing friendship between them. Feel like someone close to Bryn is in fact trying to harm her, and I feel that they are right under our noses but we are overlooking them and that annoys me. I want to know moreee!!!

It took me a while to get over Bryn being whiny and really get into the book. I like the concept a lot but Bryn as the main character kind of ruined the book for me in the first half. :(

I did like Jaxon more in this book. I am actually curious to see if they end up together. I think they would lead an interesting life and keep each other on their toes.
So sad about Rhianna...poor girl didn't deserve this.I do hate this community where everyone should be perfect and should be more concerned about their appearance to the public than their own happiness. That bullshit with the mistresses and the whole tone of the book towards men vs women was awful. I think it kinda depicted the old times when women were nothing more than entertainment and children-providers.

I completely agree! That's one of the reason I really like Bryn in the later books. She has a 'human' perceptive that a lot of dragons. Especially blues don't have.

Finding out on your sixteenth birthday you’re a shape-shifting dragon is tough to swallow. Being hauled off to an elite boarding school is enough to choke on.
Since Bryn is the only crossbreed at the Institute for Excellence, all eyes are on her, but it’s a particular black dragon, Zavien, who catches her attention.
Zavien is tired of the Council’s rules. Segregated clans, being told who to love, and close-minded leaders make freedom of choice almost impossible. The new girl with the striped hair is a breath of fresh air, and with Bryn’s help, they may be able to change the rules.
At the Institute, old grudges, new crushes, and death threats are all part of a normal day for Bryn. She’ll need to learn to control her dragon powers if she wants to make it through her first year at school. But even focusing on staying alive is difficult when you’re falling for someone you can't have.
