Sparkling Cyanide (Colonel Race, #4) by Agatha Christie is a wonderful read, I rated it 5. It should cover beverages.

Tracey (stewartry) | 218 comments I had no interest in doing anything I should have been doing this weekend, so I did this:

https://www.pinterest.com/stewartry/h...

It's far from comprehensive - I've been using Audible; I left out authors I don't like; and I skipped a lot of books I've read, or which were later in series. If anyone gets stuck, they're more than welcome to wander through the boards!

message 57: by Jean (new)

Jean This wonderful, thank you Tracey. Bravo!

Patricia | 158 comments I want to add my thanks to Tracy for her pinterest work! For another book with a corpse or body on the cover: St. Peter's Fair. This is the edition I have, so may not be available now, but if I ever draw that category, I will probably use it.

Libby McLellan | 137 comments Help! I need a book with “slash, cut, slice” etc. in title or author’s name! I have scanned lists for hours. Lauren, is the rule that, if we land on the item in Clue again we do the other items until we have done the All?

message 81: by Gretchen (new)

Gretchen (eab2012) | 255 comments Alright, I have landed on the Ballroom square again. I already did the task for a group of people on the cover. Now I need a dancer. I could use a few more suggestions.

Thanks!

I have a couple of ideas I've been "saving" for that task:

Dancers in Mourning (The Albert Campion Mysteries) by Margery Allingham

A Useful Woman (Rosalind Thorne Mysteries #1) by Darcie Wilde

Hi Viji,
Sorry for the late reply - I was overseas without access to the Internet.

Anyway, I'm also sorry about the cover because it is only partially purple. Most of it is white, yellow and blue.

Tracey (stewartry) | 218 comments Does anyone know of a good book for the first Kitchen option? "Read a book with a kitchen on the cover"? The only one I could find was Murder in the Servants' Hall, and it is TERRIBLE. I flatly refuse to read more than I already fought through - which wasn't much.

Dinner Most Deadly (John Pickett Mysteries, #4) by Sheri Cobb South
Kitchen – Read a book with a kitchen on the cover OR a book with any item typically found in a kitchen on the cover (dish, food).

Mrs. Jeffries Takes Stock (Mrs. Jeffries, #4) by Emily Brightwell

The Pigeon Pie Mystery by Julia Stuart

message 90: by Sandy (new)

Sandy | 1632 comments The Mrs Jeffries cover might just be set in a kitchen. Those may be white cabinets in the background.

message 91: by Tracey (new)

Tracey (stewartry) | 218 comments Thanks - I did the second option (thing found in kitchen); I think Mrs. Jeffries might be my only option. Wasn't too thrilled with the only other Mrs. Jeffries novel I read, so ... *sigh*

Still Life with Murder has food on the cover. It's a great book.

message 93: by Tracey (new)

Tracey (stewartry) | 218 comments Yes, I loved that book! I just wish there was another option for "Read a book with a kitchen on the cover". There are plenty of contemporary cozies, but not much in the hist-myst category.

Tracey wrote: "I just wish there was another option for "Read a book with a kitchen on the cover""

Yes, that is why I included food or any utensil or item that can be found in a kitchen for the task. Not enough kitchens in historical mysteries :(

message 95: by Tracey (new)

Tracey (stewartry) | 218 comments Oh! Then I've been misunderstanding from day one, I think - I thought the goal was to read all the options. Thanks! *phew*

We have discovered a criminally underserved niche in historical mysteries! We need more historical culinary cozies!

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1891 comments Mod
No worries. Hope this increases your options.

message 97: by Viji (new)

3. read a book with 324 pages

Honestly, if I wouldn't have been reading this book for a task, I wouldn't have finished it. I found it tedious and irritating. I don't care about rich people problems.

So now I'm on to needing a rope on the cover. I've checked Tracey's Pinterest board but nothing is jumping out to me.
