Bram Ryckaert | 5 comments I'm reading through the Annihilation: Conquest omnibus and I've noticed an oversight in how the issues are ordered. Nova issues 8-12 are put together in sequence, but in issue 10 something big is casually dropped that only gets revealed at the end of Conquest #1, which they put after Nova #12.

Omni order is Nova 8-12 => Conquest 1-6, while the recommended order you find online is:

Conquest 1 - 2
Nova 8 - 10 + Annual
Conquest 3-5
Nova 11-12
Conquest 6

Marvel obviously didn't care that much about this considering the cover of this omnibus, but it's still a mistake. I don't think all the zigzagging in that rec. order is needed, but Conquest #1 should've been put before Nova #10. I still have to read the final issues, so maybe there are even more errors.

I hope this doesn't pop up again in the 3 other Cosmic omnis I bought (Prelude, War and Realm) and I hope Hickman's Avengers omni also has the right order since that one's very specific iirc. It's kind of sloppy to see this kind of error in a collector's edition like an omni.

Do you guys know about other instances where they made an order/placement mistake like this, in any omnibus?

Donovan | 1154 comments Having read it once and planning on buying the omnibus, Grant Morrison’s Batman run has a semi-complicated reading order just because of the length alone. Not sure how that’ll work in the omnibus. Probably the same as your experience : )

Ooh_jim | 251 comments Like his F4 omnis, Hickman's Avengers omni is arranged in a decent order. I couldn't tell you off the top of my head how the other DNA omnis read, but I know this issue was brought up when the Infinity Gauntlet omni came out and it had the build up, the core series, then all of the tie ins in stead of listing everything chronologically.

Personally, I appreciate both sides of the argument for/against reproducing books in strict chronological order; but I agree that is becomes an oversight to have main plot points from the title series spoilt by tie in issues.

Bram Ryckaert | 5 comments I've finished the War of Kings omni and this is way more of an issue there. I expand on it in my review here.

Basically the main series is placed around the middle of the book and the back half is Ascension, Nova and GotG. Some main series reveals lack a punch because the related issues are put after the event, involving Darkhawk, GotG and Blastaar. Plus, the cliffhanger and final page of the book is from an issue that was supposed to be placed before GotG #18 and 19.
