This sex scene is honestly what I want :p I wish I could feel stuff like this with my boyfriend. I can't believe that they haven't even seen each other naked yet.
And wait!? It's like his nightmare? Where he hurts Clary? But it's real? What?

Why is Jace at the Silent Brothers? The narrator does the Silent Brothers voice and the Seelie Queen's voice the same, and it's so weird.

I was losing my focus in the most important part of the book, but then I picked up the physical and read it along with the audio to get back into it XD This one definitely isn't that intense, I feel like not much has happened.

For a change I actually enjoyed this one! Less romance denial crap, more other stuff. I loved the dual perspective, which is a new thing I think? At least from Simon's POV anyway. It just gave me the break I needed from Clary, even though I haven't read one of these books for a few months, I'm not sure I was ready for another full Clary book. I just really despise her. For once, it was actually 100% Jace that annoyed me this book. So pathetic and insecure. Normally I find the insecure vulnerable boys cute and appealing, but Jace was just bleh.
As it had been a long while since City of Glass, I'd basically forgotten all of the main points, so going into this book was a big mission, and a rather confusing one. I had no clue what (view spoiler)[the Mark of Cain was, and it was only at the end of the book that it said that Clary had put it on him, and I had no freaking idea. (hide spoiler)] I forgot all about (view spoiler)[Sebastian, and I couldn't even remember who he was XD (hide spoiler)]
I'm pleased I jumped back into the world, and I technically read the whole entire book today! Well, lisened to the audio, which I'm very impressed with. Thought it'd take me a while, this one. I have to say it gripped me a little :p

Chapter 1-3 (view spoiler)[ I don’t remember this series as funny as it is now but I appreciate the entertainment. It’s hilarious that Simon’s dealing with a dating crisis. With Isabelle and Maia too! The whole romance scene between Jace and Clary is just awkward. I was never a fan of it in the first place but at least it was believable back then. This whole “I love you” between just seems sooo fake. I’m excited we get to see Camille! I did like her in the infernal devices book. (hide spoiler)]

-Chapter 7 (view spoiler)[ I kinda like that the story is focusing on Simon. His part is very interesting. What I don’t appreciate is the whole and Jayce and Clary thing. Again. Why can’t Jace be near Clary again? This is a repeat of the 2nd and 3rd book. So what’s the new reason they can’t be together? (hide spoiler)]

-Chapter 9 (view spoiler)[ I have no words for Jace and Clary’s-whatever the-f-that-was, except for the fact that I need a puke bucket. Although this chapter redeemed itself with Simon. He’s suddenly moved up as my fav character in this series. Although we haven’t seen much of Magnus so I guess we’ll see when he pops up. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 18 (view spoiler)[ Wow. Of course. How convenient that they would have the necessary power to take down one of the most famous, oldest and ancient demons of all time. It just isn’t right...... (hide spoiler)]

Finished! (view spoiler)[ Of course. Sebastian’s back. It’s going to put a strain on Jace and Clary’s relationship again. I’m so disappointed. I actually liked where they were going with Lilith’s story. I think it would have been a lot better if they introduced her as the new main villain for the remainder of the series instead of bringing Sebastian back. It was waaay too easy on how they killed Lilith. Its just ridiculous! It would have been a lot better if it took the rest of the series to kill her. Now that would be more believable.

On the more positive note. I did like the book still. It focused on Simon and his POV was a lot interesting than Clary’s. I couldn’t believe how utterly useless Jace was in this book and he was sooo cheesy throughout the book with all his romance I love you crap but I can touch you. (hide spoiler)]

I forgot about that! I did like having Camille back. I hope to see more of her. She’s an interesting character that can either be good or bad.

Yep yep those were pretty much my thoughts on Jace and Clary. I know what Simon did was horrible and I’m glad he realized it in the end but I thought it was entertaining while I was reading that part. All I could think of was how mad both girls were going to be WHEN they found out. There was no way he was going to keep that hidden.

Okay I did read all your comments but I got tired of pressing reply to each update lol. So I’m going to try and summarize all my thoughts to your updates.

I was totally on team Camille. I’m not sure how much you remembered from the Clockwork Princess book but she’s not an evil person. She’s self absorbed and only looking out to save herself but she’s not a bad person.

I love how Magnus just casually announced that he and Camille were together once and Alec’s all panicking about it and about Magnus’s past. It was hilarious and cute!

The sex scene was mehh but I get what you’re saying. It’s hard to find love and feelings like Clary and Jace have. As for the sex scene, I might not be feeling it as much after reading First Grave on the Right before this book. The sex scene in the end was crazy and sooo hot. Nothing tops that lol.

I totally thought Clary got kidnapped again but nope it was Maureen. It makes sense but I honestly thought Clary got herself into stuff she shouldn’t be in again.

Jace is just ughhhhh.

I like the references from the Clockwork Princess books. I think it’ll be more fun to read about them as they’re incorporated throughout the series.

I was so disappointed with the ending for this book. I did like it and it had what would have been solid foundation for the rest of the books in the series but no. They were able to kill a very ancient, since the beginning of time demon. I mean that’s cool and all for Simon but it would have been so great if Lilith was the actual main antagonist for the rest of the series! I can’t believe they were able to kill her just like that!!!! Arghh!

I totally agree with all the feelings stuff. Everyone seems so buddy buddy. Clary and Simon act like nothing between them. Simon even acts like he really like Jace for Clary. And Alec just seems to disregard Jace.
