Joni | 626 comments Keith Haring loved to draw and draw is just what he did.

You may be familiar with the art piece or drawing called the "Radiant Baby". That was one of Keith's most famous pieces. Keith took up drawing at a young age. Everyone always asked "Keith, why do you draw?" He would just shrug his shoulders and move on. He even sold his bike so that he could buy art supplies. He drew to make people happy and to make a difference in the world. Many people wanted to see Keith's work. At his very first art showing, all of his pieces sold. Keith cared so much about helping others that he gave all his money from that art show to children in the local area who didn't have food to eat. When asked why he did so, he replied that he was happy before he had the money and he is still happy without it. Keith traveled the world sharing his art and drawing. Sadly, Keith died at the young age of 31 from AIDS related-complications and could no longer share his gift.

This is a wonderfully written book. Written by Keith's sister in order to honor him. She is donating a portion of proceeds from the sale of this book to an organization that benefits the youth of Berks County, PA.
