I actually just covered this book in a video. Overall I think it's at best an ok book. It works as it is, but upon really thinking about the plot, characters, and structure I found little cracks and flaws that made me take a step back from the overall story and see it's not as good as I first thought. It's still an ok book. It's a popcorn book, but it's not as far as I seen a book with much depth.
I still need to read but it seems so cool!
Just got a copy from the library, hoping to start it soon. Reading the back it sounds similar to Neuromancer.
I read this book in 2013. Looking back at my review, I loved it. Would I still love it? I actually think I'd enjoy it more because I'm older and could probably get more of the pop culture references. I think its a great book for giving you a visual of the world building and action. In short, it's a fun ride.
I've read this a few times but I'm always up for a reread! I'm going to a book signing today with Ernest Cline. Exciting!Edit: just wanted to say how great the book signing was. He spoke for about an hour and told his story of becoming a writer. He also talked about the movie (of course)- it looks good! How awesome is it to have Spielberg direct the movie based on your book? Crazy!
