This is a favorite of mine. I haven't read it since I was near to Frankie's age, so it's time of a reread.
This was one of my first important books, read as a teenager. My librarian realized I was running out of good choices. The memory of this book always tugs at my heart. I am now old, so must chose which books are worthwhile.
