J.B. Trepagnier (jbtrepagnier) | 27 comments I noticed a review disappeared off one of my books a few days ago and just chalked it up to the zon doing it's thing again.

I'm starting back work next week and I've been trying to get as much reading in as possible before that starts. All of my reviews came from Kindle Unlimited downloads. I posted a review earlier today, got an email from Amazon that it was posted, then not 30 minutes later, every single one of my Amazon reviews were totally gone. My profile says 0 reviews, but my ranking is still what it was before.

I hadn't gotten the email I've heard about from other people about them thinking your were breaking guidelines. I scheduled a call and said my reviews were gone and they were all from Kindle Unlimited. The guy asked me to refresh a few times to see if they came back because he could see them on his end.

The department that handled that can't be spoken to on the phone, so I'm waiting for an email, but I've heard horror stories about review abilities being revoked with no explanation given (and as a previous insurance adjuster, if I did that, I'd be in trouble with the department of insurance and lose my license as you cannot tell someone they "violated the policy" without quoting the actual policy language and telling them HOW)

Has anyone had their reviews mysteriously disappear and have good stories about getting them back?

DJay (djdjay) | 13 comments Sounds like a database server issue. If other people can see your reviews, but you can't see them the server you're connected to doesn't have or isn't getting the data. Remember. That there are a plethora of severs out there that people are connecting to and sometimes when doing data maintenance, things "disappear" only to come back min/hours/days later. I'm literally having this issue that you're talking about at work. I'm a Database Admin and it drives me nuts.

J.B. Trepagnier (jbtrepagnier) | 27 comments The guy at Amazon could see them, but my profile says 0 reviews and when I clicked on the link for the review I posted earlier today, it took me to a page that said "The page does not exist"

I hope it's just a server issue and they come back. I hope I didn't tip some zon algorithm because I've been reading a book a day or every other day while I wait for my new job to start. Once I go back to working full time, my reading time is going to get limited to right before bed and my writing time is going to get cut in half

DJay (djdjay) | 13 comments Yeah, sounds like a server issue. If he couldn't see them, I'd be worried, but worse case scenario. Even if they were deleted, they have backups and should be able to restore them.

Most likely DJay is right. If it continues to be a problem, keep working with Amazon on the issue. Thanks.
