Except, as most people are, he was skeptical of the idea of a Korean country music singer. James' contract came with an ultimatum: pop music, or no record deal.

Now, James isn't that stupid. He signed.

And over the past ten years, Somy Music has succeeded in transforming their country-wannabe into one of the biggest names in pop music. Dabbling in indie, rock, alternative, r&b ─ and yes, country ─ influences, James' fans swear that there's nothing that he can't do. Except for his one gaping flaw: the man has two left feet. Whatever rhythmic ability he has with his instruments (guitar, bass, piano, drums, and oboe, for the record) magically disappears when he tries to channel it into dance. But James Lee doesn't do the things he should do, or not do the things he shouldn't do, so he dances. His dad always told him that he could do anything well if he worked hard enough, so look out world, here he is.

Seven years ago, at age nineteen, Kwon Jinhwan debuted as an idol. And that's how Jinhwan learned, the hard way, that he just wasn't cut out for the idol life. Jinhwan wanted to put out music, his music, and he wasn't getting to do that, not really, and there was so much he needed to do to please people. Smile here, laugh there, have the perfect reaction.
