Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments Yo!

message 2: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Hey, alright, what were you thinking of?

message 3: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments Okay, so I either wanted to do something where a blind girl and an artist fall in love, we could do doubles with this for like a deaf person and a musician or a mute person and a singer.

OR

I wanted to do something with a lot of guns and shooting and this is something I haven't really thought out but I'm very gung ho about. Maybe zombies or Edge of Tomorrow type of shit?

message 4: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Well, I'm totally in love with zombies, but I also love the idea of a blind girl and an artist. Or maybe someone in a wheelchair and someone who can walk.

message 5: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments Ugh. You're supposed to help me decide not make it harder! Indecision kills. I would say we should do a mashup, but in this case, that would be overkill and absolutely ridiculous. What do you think we should do?

message 6: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments I have no idea haha. I'm the most indecisive person ever which is why I try make everyone else choose. Ummmm, ummm, um, yeah I can't decide.

message 7: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments Let's do the blind girl one. Zombie rps never last long because they're hard to rp and get boring easily.

message 8: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments That's true.
Alright, would you rather be the guy or the girl?

message 9: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments I want to be the blind girl, but we can do doubles if you like.

message 10: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Well we can just start with the two if you want.

message 11: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments Okay cool! Give me a minute to make my character then.

message 12: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Sounds good.

message 13: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments Name: Harper Jane Dare
Age: 17
Appearance:

Personality: Harper could care less for people, but she couldn't care less about their opinions. Give her your thoughts about how she does things and she'll blow you off. Harper can take criticism unless you are trying to change her. Don't tell her that she is helpless because she is blind. Don't tell her she needs to act different. Don't tell her she doesn't act like a blind person. Why? Because she will spend the rest of her days doing something to prove you wrong. She does a fantastic job at doing that. Harper is bitchy and only has cause to talk to you if she feels like it.
History: Harper had a normal life until she was six years old when she got into an accident that caused severe internal damage including the snapping of her optic nerves. They said there was a chance that Harper could get her sight back, but it never came back. So Harper officially became blind. Everyone started treating her differently and she pushed away a lot of friends because of it. She became the official bitch of her elementary school and grew up pushing people away because they pitied her instead of being proud of her. She became depressed because no one treated her as anything but a poor helpless blind girl. Her parents took her to a therapist and he recommended Harper go out more and meet new people outside of who she already knew. Unfortunately for Harper, her parents made her do that. So now Harper was forced to constantly be outside the house. Luckily for Harper, she knew how to get away from her parents despite being blind.

message 14: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Name: Toby Scott Reynolds
Age: 19
Appearance:
Personality: Toby is a man who accepts all people no matter what and spends his life trying to make people happy through his art. He hates to see people hurting and he will do anything to make a life better. He will risk his life for others. He's almost always happy and he tries to make every day better than the last. He's constantly about meeting new people because he is extremely social and he gets along with just about everyone. He never tries to change people because he knows that he would never change himself.
History: Toby was raised by his father only because his mother died during child birth. His father was always bitter about it and he openly blamed Toby. He was often drunk and raging, but Toby was still a happy child. However, one night Toby's father decided to try and slash up Toby's face. He didn't get very far since he had decided to do it when he had friends over. His father was arrested and Toby was put into the foster system, but he never lost his happiness despite his scars. He was eventually adopted by an African American couple, at the age of 12, and they encouraged him to practice his art, and he did. He's now a fairly successful artist, though he is only known in certain communities.

message 15: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments Cute! Where do you want to start? Maybe Harper wanders into an art exhibition for Toby's work or something?

message 16: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments I was thinking the exact same thing haha.

message 17: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments Okay! Do you want to start or should I?

message 18: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments I vote you.

message 19: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments Escaping her parents was a difficult thing to do for Harper. She was blind and that made walking off without anyone noticing rather hard. But after years of practice, Harper managed to slip away from her parents without fail. The only problem was figuring her way around the streets and whatnot without her eyesight. She could smell hot dog vendors and rain. It was muggy and Harper didn't need eyesight to know that it was going to rain soon. People stayed well out of her way because her blindness was obvious by the white cane she swept across the sidewalk. Harper needed something to do. Just walking the streets like that was making her irritated by all the people who avoided her. Like she was terminally ill or something. She was blind not stupid. Harper paused when she heard voices echoing. There was a building to her right with the doors open. Harper didn't know what was going on inside, but she decided to check it out. It had to be more interesting than wandering around completely lost. She entered the building with little difficulty. If it was a private event, no one bothered to stop her. Probably because she was blind.

message 20: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Toby laughed heartily and shook his head as the many guests tried to interpret his art. He always loved this part. He loved that everyone had a different take on one piece of art. He personally had a very different view on it, but he would never tell any of them that. Art was for every person, not just one. Plus, he couldn't explain that he found it more important when his eyes were closed and he could just feel the textures. It was one of the reasons he didn't use very many colors, or bright colors. Even when they started to ask questions he refused to answer anything about the meaning. Technique was a different story. None of his techniques were a secret because he wanted others to be able to make art.

message 21: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments Harper listened around as she walked throughout the building. From what she could hear from people's conversations was that she was in an art exhibition. Harper also guessed that meant she was extremely under dressed in a t-shirt and jeans. Lovely. Harper could always use her blindness as an excuse for not dressing well, but then again, Harper didn't give a shit about what she should be wearing. If she couldn't see it, it didn't matter. She wandered around, listening to people's conversations. A lot of them were rather interesting as people tried to figure out the meaning of the art on the walls. Eventually the people Harper was listening to moved on and that left her standing in front of a painting by herself. She tried to imagine what it would look like based on how the people described it, twisting dull yellows and grays, but all Harper could imagine was a blank canvas. Colors were something Harper had a hard time remembering after being unable to see them for so many years.

message 22: by Isis (last edited Jul 18, 2014 08:28PM) (new)

Isis | 5021 comments "You can touch it if you would like," Toby said from behind her. "It's really much better when you do." He could tell that the girl was blind by her cane, but he didn't think that was an excuse not to enjoy art. He didn't know if she would be able to imagine the art or not, and he didn't care. She could get at least something out of feeling it. He led her hand gently to the painting then let go and stepped back. "You don't look like you meant to be here, but you might as well enjoy it while you can. The exhibit won't be here after today. I'm moving it over a couple of blocks into a bigger venue. My manager seems to think it will be a good idea." He put his hands into his pockets and watched her touch the painting. She was a pretty girl and it wasn't obvious she was blind by anything other than her cane. She interested him.

message 23: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments Harper almost jumped when she heard someone speak to her. She hadn't heard his footsteps over the chatter in the room and it surprised her that someone would talk to the blind girl. She was so used to just being in the background. A topic of discussion rather than a person to discuss with. Harper let him guide her hand to the painting and she felt the ridges of each paint stroke. She could tell where the colors blended like continents and oceans connected by a beach. Harper barely acknowledged what the man was saying. But she did absorb the information. "The people standing here before said the painting was mostly yellow. That's supposed to be a happy color right? Then why do the strokes feels so tragic? It's like you painted without looking at the color you were using." Harper trailed off and turned to face the painter, more for his benefit than her own. "Am I right?"

((I am literally just making stuff up about this painting as I go... Are we going to just go with it?))

message 24: by Isis (last edited Jul 19, 2014 01:24AM) (new)

Isis | 5021 comments ((Yes haha))

"I rarely pay attention to the colors I choose. I choose them on a gut feeling and then I use them wherever my brush tells me to use them. The color isn't what matters in a piece of art, it's the way that it feels. Inside and out, of course. Though, I was going for tragedy here. Peaceful nothingness. There's no life on this beach. Even the ocean is dead." He shrugged and then smiled. "Sometimes I feel a little moody and this is how I get it out of my system. Some people scream; I paint." He laughed lightly. "So, in the end, I guess I would say that you're right, but so is everyone else in this room. It's not about how I painted it or why I painted it, it's just the feeling. Your feeling, my feeling, every person's individual feeling. Does that make sense? It's harder to explain than you think. Anywho, what brings you in here young lady?"

message 25: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments Harper nodded as she listened to what the painter was saying. It made sense. He painted like he was blind. Although his paintings probably look better than if a blind person had painted it. While the meaning was in the colors for a regular person, the meaning was in the strokes for Harper. She felt like the paintings all had a secret meaning just for her. "It was about to rain." Harper replied. As if on cue she could hear umbrellas opening as people left the building. "I heard people inside and figured there must be something interesting going on. More interesting than wandering around outside at least. Plus I don't have an umbrella." She purposely didn't mention her parents in case this artist would freak out and try and get her home. Harper wasn't ready to deal with them yet.

message 26: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments "Well, I have an extra umbrella you can use if you would like. This place is going to close in about twenty minutes and they don't even like me to stay after hours. I would invite you to grab a bite to eat with me, but I don't want to risk sounding creepy or anything. I promise I'm not trying to take advantage of you..Crap. Now it sounds like I am trying to take advantage of you. Sorry. It's easy to talk about art but I always end up sounding like an idiot in normal conversation with pretty girls. Just ignore everything I just said and take the extra umbrella. I'm sure you have a plan for where you're going and I'm just standing here babbling away like a fool. Jeez." He physically put a hand over his mouth in order to keep himself from talking anymore. He sounded like he had never spoken to a female in his entire life, which was definitely not the case. He had no right to even try to hit on this girl, so he didn't know why he wanted to, or why she made him so flustered.

message 27: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments Harper laughed and shook her head when he finally stopped babbling at a million miles an hour. "That would be nice actually. The bite to eat. I don't actually have a plan and I haven't eaten yet." Harper smiled. She knew she was fairly pretty based on how people talked to her, but she didn't really care. "I would return the compliment, but I have a feeling you wouldn't appreciate me complimenting your appearance." She paused, feeling like she had forgotten something. "Oh, I'm Harper by the way. Nice to meet you."

message 28: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments "Oh!" he laughed "I'm Toby. Toby Reynolds. Let me go grab those umbrellas and them we can walk down the street to this little restaurant I know. It's good, I promise." He started to walk away, then paused. "And, by the way, I always love to be complimented on my looks. I'm a very beautiful man, even you should know that," he teased then bounded off. He got the two umbrellas that he had promised and then he walked back to her. "Are you ready to go Miss Harper?" He held out his arm to her. "Shall I escort you, or do you prefer to be the always independent? I prefer to be escorted, always, even to the toilet." He was joking again, and he hopes she know that. He could sometimes get a little out of hand without realizing it.

message 29: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments Harper was surprised by his 180 in his personality. Toby went from a blubbering idiot to a sarcastic asshole in the blink of an eye. Harper didn't know whether to be fixtures or impressed. "Well if you say so." She laughed as he walked away to get umbrellas. Harper found herself standing awkwardly by herself once Toby was out of earshot. After a minute Harper felt like she was having a mini heart attack. What if it was just a joke? She had run into assholes that stood her up because she was blind and easily tricked. What if Toby was like that? It would be so embarrassing. But Harper was proved wrong when Toby returned with two umbrellas. She held back a sigh of relief when he spoke. "Well my preferred method of travel would definitely be carried by servants, but we don't always get what we want. But if you insist, I could escort you to said bathroom, although I can't promise we won't run into furniture on the way there." Harper laughed. "I don't need to be escorted though. I'm fine with my cane. Just don't let me wander out into traffic." Harper joked. She was generally careful enough to get by as well as a sighted person and didn't need someone to lead her around like she was wearing a leash.

message 30: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Toby laughed whole heartedly. "Alright, no traffic. I can try but I make no promises." He knew he was more likely to walk into traffic than and ever would be. She was careful and he was an easily distracted man who often walked himself into situations that were less than great. He's probably be better off blind. Oh well, sight was good too. "As for the bathroom, I don't have to go at this time so I'm alright. I do, however, need food or I will die. It's been like three hours since my last meal and I don't deal well with lack of food. I should probably cut back so I don't get fat, but that's a no-can-do right now." He started off toward the front door as he spoke, going a mile a minute a usual.

message 31: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments Harper followed along, sweeping her cane across the ground in front of her so she didn't run into anything. She listened to Toby as he spoke a million miles a minute. Harper didn't mind the babbling because most people didn't really talk to her often. And if they did it wasn't for that long. So an actual conversation was a breath of fresh air. "Three hours? Oh the horror. You must be skinny as a twig from going that long without food."

message 32: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Toby laughed. "Hey now, don't you be judging me. We all have our weaknesses and mine just happens to be food." When they reached the diner her held the door open for her. "Ma Lady," he bowed and waited for her to enter. He barely remembered that Harper was blind at this time. The only reminder was her cane tapping the floor. He was just being completely himself with a person that had caught his fancy. This was how he was. He talked too fast, he held doors open and made odd comments, he liked to joke and be sarcastic, and he needed food. He was a little strange, to say the least.

message 33: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments Harper only laughed. When they reached the diner, Harper heard the door swing open and she assumed that Toby had held it open for her. After a few seconds of fumbling around with her cane she was able to get through the door just fine. Once inside she numbed her cane into a lot of things and realized it was to cramped for her to keep using her cane. Harper detatched her cane and folded it up. She hoped that the fact she was putting her cane away into her bag made Toby realized she needed to be guided to the table. If it was too cramped to use her cane she was absolutely useless at getting around without running into things. But she was too prideful to outright ask Toby for help. Harper knew that sort of personality was bad to have for a blind person, but she hated being helpless.

message 34: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Toby gently took her arm and led her over to a table. He didn't need to be told when he had to give help. The place was too cramped for her to be throwing her cane around and it was an unfamiliar area, therefore she would be given help. When they reached the table he pulled out her chair and carefully helped her to sit down before pushing her in. He then sat across from her. "What do you like to eat, ma lady?" he asked her. She obviously couldn't read the menu so he would have to find something that she enjoyed and hope it was the right choice. He already knew what he wanted himself, but that was because he always got the same thing. He was one of those people.

message 35: by Wʀɛռ (last edited Jul 22, 2014 10:47PM) (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments "Ummm... Well a burger is usually a great place to start in a diner. Milkshakes are also accepted." Harper replied. She was a bit distracted though because she was thinking about Toby's hands. They were rough and large compared to her own, but soft compared to her father's hands. While that may have been a weird thing to think about, it was natural for a blind person. A person with sight was always wondering how people look, but a blind person thinks more about how they sound and feel to the touch. "I mean you can't go wrong with a good chocolate milkshake."

message 36: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments ((I just had a really great idea for later in the rp! They could do body painting, it would be so adorable!))

message 37: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments ((I love it! Sorry about the late reply, I've been very busy))

"Alright, well I see chocolate milk shakes here, and I must admit they sound delicious. I think I'll get one for sure. As for the burgers there is just a plain burger with the fixings, a cheeseburger, a barbecue bacon burger, some burger with guacamole on it. Any of this sounding any good yet? I'm thinking a good old cheeseburger sounds like heaven right now." He looked over the menu thoroughly to make sure he wasn't making a mistake in his decision. There were many choices, but nothing sounded as good as that cheeseburger. The decision was final.

message 38: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments ((Oh no, it's fine. Everybody has a life outside of Goodreads. And if you have any ideas that would make the rp more interesting, please share, because I know realistic rps can be a bit boring sometimes.))

"Well then I'll have what you're having. Minus the cheese. Restaurant cheese doesn't taste the same to me. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with not being able to see it." Harper replied with a laugh. "And are you sure you read that right? Guacamole on a burger sounds a bit strange. Usually it's just plain avocado." She was glad that she could actually have a normal conversation without people freaking out over the fact she was blind. Harper was blind and that was never going to change. She was never going to have the miracle of returned sight. No second chance. All that she would see was nothingness for the rest of her life. That meant she couldn't get a normal job, couldn't go to a normal school, couldn't move out, she was stuck being treated like a child because no one would accept blindness as a fact. But then there was Toby. Treating her like a normal person. Not whispering about her like she had the plague, not babying her, not falling into awkward silence every time it became apparent that she couldn't do something on her own. Harper loved it.

message 39: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments ((I'm sure I'll randomly come up with something at some point haha))

"Well, I pretty sure I know the difference between avocado and guacamole. I learned my letters when I was three years old and I can read perfectly fine at this age. I may be an artist but I'm not an illiterate," he laughed and shook his head. When the waitress walked over he ordered for them and gave up his menu. "So, what is it you do for a living?" he asked her. She was old enough to have a job, or at least it appeared so, and he knew there were plenty of opportunities for the blind in modern society. Maybe she had one of those jobs or maybe she had some plans for the future. Either way, he wanted to hear them. "Oh, and how old are you anyway? I'm nineteen going on twenty here pretty soon. Do you live with your family still?"

message 40: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments "I don't have a job, I can't read perfectly fine, my overprotective parents decided to home school me after I became blind, and I'm seventeen. That's basically my story, anything else you would like to hear about it? Ask away." Harper hated being asked about her home life because her parents were so restricting. They believed she was so blind and helpless that she couldn't do anything on her own. Yet she still managed to get away from them time and time again. It was like they didn't even see her as a person. All they saw was her blindness and not Harper. It pissed her off.

message 41: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments "Well you'll be eighteen soon and that means you can do whatever you want. You get out of your parents' house and discover what you want to do. There are hundreds of jobs for the blind at this time and I actually know an apartment complex for people who with disabilities. I know that's not the perfect word for your blindness, but I needed a word for more than just you. My deaf and mute friend lived there for most of his life and he loved it. It's more classified for people's needs, you know what I mean? Maybe you'd like a place like that. It's somewhere you could be on your own, but you would get an elevator with braille buttons and what not. They also had attendants twenty-four seven. I lived there with my friend for a while, though they didn't really love that. It was interesting," he shrugged. Maybe talking about this would make her mad, but of course he didn't think about that until it was too late.

message 42: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments "That doesn't sound too appealing to me." Harper replied. "While I hate how my parents treat me, it's because I'm reminded that I'm seen as a condition before I'm seen as a person. I don't want to live somewhere where I'm reminded of that everyday I guess. But it would be nice to live on my own." Harper sighed. She seemed more sad than anything. Harper hated to admit it, but her world was ruled by blindness. That fact would probably never change because she would always be blind. "Let's talk about something else. I would rather pretend that I have my eyes closed than actually being blind."

message 43: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments "I'm just saying, that at least in that place you would be free and have the ability to remember that you're just a person on your own," he sighed. She focused too much on her blindness, and it just made it worse. "Anyway, I don't really know what to talk about. I'm not too good at coming up with subjects, just saying whatever comes to my mind. I'm awkward..." He ran a hand up through his hair then just looked at her. She was very pretty. Maybe she had a personal life. "Do you have a boyfriend?" he asked curiously. "I'm not asking because I'm being a creep, I'm just wondering. You're very pretty and everything. Once again, I'm awkward."

message 44: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments Harper laughed. "Don't worry, I know plenty of awkward people. You aren't that odd. I go to group therapy because my parents think I'm depressed for God's sake." She shrugged her shoulders. "I'm pretty? Please tell me more. I love to hear compliments." Harper then got a sort of devious grin. "Do I have a boyfriend..." She pondered. "Why? Would you like to be my boyfriend? Because that could be arranged." She wondered what her parents would think. Harper disappeared and then shows back up at the house with an older boyfriend that she only met that day. They would be furious. And Harper loved it.

message 45: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments "I don't know a man in the world who wouldn't want to be your boyfriend, dear. You've got the body of princess and the face of an angel. But, I personally like to get to know a girl a bit before I go jumping into commitments. You know us artists, always the flighty population." Their food arrived and he began to eat with great enthusiasm. It was probably best that she couldn't see it at this point. He wasn't a loud eater but he did tend to be messy and it was usually very fast. He had manners of course, but his fast pace made for accidents along the way to his mouth. His lap was the prime area for accidents.

message 46: by Wʀɛռ (new)

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments "Oh please. Tell a man that you're blind and he'll either try to solve are your problems like he's the greatest therapist in the world or start running. I have met men on both sides of that incident and they're both assholes. I'm just having problems figuring out which side you're on. Or maybe I'm wrong and there are more than two options for a poor blind girl like me." She used her hands to search around the table until she found her milkshake and took a sip. She ate rather slow, mostly because she couldn't see her food. Without sight there was no hand-eye coordination and she just made a mess all over her face if she didn't pay attention.

message 47: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments ((Sorry, it's been a busy couple of weeks))

"There would never be just two types of men. People come in every size, shape, and type that you can think. Maybe you just happen to seek out those two particular types. You may be blind but that doesn't keep you from being attracted to a certain type, or falling into the same places as those certain types. I personally think that no two people can really be the same, just have some of the same traits...so you never know. You could meet some guy that just blows your mind, or maybe even a girl. Who knows? Not me, that's for sure." He had finished his food by now and he was pushing it away from him. They sure did have different eating habits, but they still both managed to make a bit of a mess.

Wʀɛռ (Cactus_Wren) | 467 comments ((Sameeee....))

"Well then the world will continue to be a puzzle for me. Have you ever tried to solve a puzzle without being able to see? Hard as dicks if you ask me." Harper sighed, suddenly not hungry anymore even though she only ate maybe half her burger. It was hard to tell. But what she could tell was that people were constantly moving in and out of the restaurant and people kept talking and moving in their seats, standing up, sitting down, sliding glasses across the table. Harper could tell anybody who asked how many people were inside, not including the kitchen, with sound being the only way she could tell where anything was, the world seemed impossibly loud. Even if it seemed fairly quiet to someone like Toby. She felt like she was on an airplane, but her ears hadn't popped yet. It was hard to focus on the things she wanted to hear.
"So what do you like to do other than painting and eati-" Harper was interrupted by her phone going off, playing something that sounded like a death march on an organ. It had taken them long enough. "Sorry, I have to take this." Harper apologized and answered her phone. "You have reached the helpline for runaway teens. If you would like to report a sighting, press one. If you would like to submit information on a missing child, pre-" Harper was interrupted yet again by her mother shouting into the phone. Harper sighed and put the phone on the table. It took several minutes before her mother stopped shouting. She picked up the phone and held it to her ear. "Yeah yeah yeah, I'll come home, don't worry about it. Yeah, in fact I can see the station from where I am, I'll be home in twenty minutes." After several uh huhs and okay moms, Harper hung up. "I give her two hours before she realizes that I couldn't see anything." Harper shoved her phone back into her pocket. "So what were we talking about?"

message 49: by Isis (new)

But, he managed to get himself under control and clear his throat. "Well, I believe you asked what I like other than painting and eating. The answer to that question would be pretty much nothing in particular. I like most all social situations but I wouldn't call that any sort of hobby. I occasionally run or hike or bike, but I wouldn't say I'm passionate about those things. I had a dog once, but she ran away and I've been too much of a wuss to go try and find another one. I love animals, but I don't deal real well with rejection." He grinned to himself at the thought of it.
"Mostly, I just like to art, and eat between art projects." He shrugged his shoulders up and down. "I guess you could call me boring, but I don't much care. I'm more or less satisfied with who I am at this point in time. But, what about you? What do you like to do other than run away from home?"
