Yeah, I was used to the flowers too. So much than I wanted to edit a post for my series challenge and scrolled right past my comment :p

It is a scary place. I don't know if you all were there on goodreads in 2015ish when the Stop the Goodreads Bullies thing was going on. It was absolutely terrible. I had a different account then under a false name and some of my friends who gave some bad reviews mentioning the author were targeted, hounded, continuously flagged and stalked so badly. There were several people who the group worked hard to hack, stalk and call at their personal/ workplaces or put their personal address etc online.I know a lot of people left goodreads during that time.
I recently read an article about that while searching for something else, and my mind went there when you said stalking.
Btw Virginie - I hope you know that your picture is still there in your goodreads photos in case you want to remove it.
And hopefully you reported those people who messaged you

I heard about that when I was looking GR up before I joined they got a lot of flack for it since it was pretty bad but it seems everything or most of it has died down and I think the word that sums what happened to the authors is they were doxxed Karishma which is pretty bad
It happened to the reviewers BY the authors. Not to the authors.Well new word learned thanks.

I've read some stories about it... I think the GR staff did a couple of waves of review deletions...
I used to check in on another group more often, that regularly linked to the newest book drama...
Authors bashing reviewers...
Authors defending convicted sex offender narrators...
Authors copyrighting words in book titles...
Online subscription retailers mysteriously shutting down with no warning...
etc...
These days I spend way too much time in FBR chat for much else...
Can't remember if Virginie intended to leave her photo in the album, but I'm sure just not having the photo appear in friends of friends news feeds cuts down on stalking, in general... the more page loads it takes to stumble across it, the less effect it has...

Yea... doxxing = leaked documents... I think there was a real problem with it a few years ago among prominent Girl Gamers... ones that are on Twitch, etc... there's pretty much an entire community surrounding this type of behavior on 4chan and 9gag, I think...

I'm so happy it died down - for sometime goodreads had gone from a happy place to a very very angry place..

I remember that. A lot of my friends left goodreads because authors started stalking people who left bad reviews.
Actually Halloween is not a big thing over here, last year I bought candy, because we just moved here and I was unsure if the village kids do trick or treating... No one came, so I eat the candy myself over the next weeks, so it wasn't too bad :DThis year I might went to a house party with friends :) I like all the creepy and disgusting halloween costumes!

I’m fine with a pumpkin me Also the name is familiar but I’m not familiar with black Annis but it’s plausible since the first settlers in England (Anglo Saxons) were German so you could pull it off
I love a bit of folklore wether it’s the Grimm tales, Aesop’s fables, Rostam also wolf among us which was pretty sick but there is just so much to choose from

Haha, I don't think so. Anni is short for Annika, which is actually a swedish name and only became popular in Germany because of Pippi Longstocking :D

What Ahdam said... Goodreads stalkers... there's also an issue with Goodreads, sometimes, where making a friend request will let you see someone's last name in the browser title bar... then you can start trying to find them on social media website... the internet is a scary place...
