Sir Anni wrote: "But be aware of the evil Enablers π"Yes, they're cunning and vicious! They haunt threads and lay in wait until they finally pounce and give you "invitations"!

Probably tonight or tomorrow :)I'm juggling between lots of books though, so I'll aim at one chapter a day (since there's only 7) :)
You?

Diana Stormblessed wrote: "Hey, we still have one more Alcatraz book right? Want to finish it this month?"Yup! I've been having a hard time concentrating on reading these days, but the Alcatraz books are so fun & short :D
I'm ready to start whenever you are :)
How are you doing on Kate Daniels? Did you finish? I got bogged down with other books and only picked it back up now. Reading #9. Just have 9.5 and 10 left and I'm done!
I read #9.5 earlier this month, and LOVED it. Just have #10 left... Should I wait for you to get there? We didn't really get to read the series together in that "re-read before the new release" frenzy everyone got into :p
Thought I would drop by to see what's up and then I see you say England and I had to hold the phone If you don't mind me asking where did you go in England Diana London?
We did London, Stonehenge, Bath, Stratford, Oxford, Blenheim Palace, and Windsor. I like to pack a lot into a 10 day trip πI have to say my favorite thing about England was how many immigrants there were. I don't want to get into a political debate here but after all the hate the US is experiencing it gave me warm fuzzy feelings, esp considering I came to the US as an immigrant with refugee status.
Typical you would only be in the south no love for the north :) :) :) Anyway I'm glad you like your stay and as an Asian (not an immigrant) I'm glad you found yourself at home with the immigrants (not sure which immigrants you met but I'm assuming you met a variety)
I remember you saying you were not originally from the US I believe you said you were from Russia originally but I might be wrong
I wanted to go to the north! My original plan included the lake district and York. But with the time it takes to get there we just didn't have time. There's SO much to see in such a small country. I didn't even expect it. I love the history. History upon history everywhere! We'll definitely be back for everything we missed.I met immigrants from everywhere. Like they say New York is a meeting pot. London is definitely one, too. So many accents :)
And yes, I'm originally from Moldova from when the Soviet Union was still a thing. We left in 88 when they gave Jews a 2 year window to escape to Israel, except like many others we skipped Israel and went straight to the US. This past July marked our 30th anniversary of being in the US π
Iβve been to York a few times when I was young itβs pretty cool I went to London last year and even I was surprised about the culture and people there
Also congrats on your anniversary Iβm sure those 30 years must have been worth it. I sometimes think of the stuff my dads side of the family went through when they immigrated to the UK since they came here around the 60s and he grew up in the 80s around the time when it wasnβt really good to be Asian so Iβm very fortunate not to have gone through what my mum and dad experienced
But anyway I digress you should consider yourself lucky since the weather has been pretty random this year
We were definitely lucky. It was mostly sunny and warm ish. When we got there the leaves were mostly green and when we left they were mostly orange/yellow/red. We got to see the best of the fall change.

I needed a break after 9 to fully appreciate it. I loved it so much and if I jump right into 10 the series ends that much sooner. How about we do 10 after Alcatraz.

Ooh, sounds like you had tons of fun during your vacation, Diana :DI've never really visited England, despite living so close :O

Are you planning on reading #9.5 before #10? (you totally should, the book is amazing!)

No, no, it's a full-lenght novel! It's the first installment of the new series (Iron Covenant) about Hugh d'Ambray. Like KD, it's not a super long book but... Around 7h of listening, I think?EDIT: Just checked. 380 pages!
Iron and Magic
Oh crap! Ok, Alcatraz on Monday, then give me a couple of days for Iron and Magic, and then let's finish off #10. Let's say next Monday (Oct 29)?
