Loriann Oberlin | 1 comments On my author dashboard there is image of a book that was from 15 yrs ago and is now out of print -- not the book readers associate with my authorship today. How do I eliminate old books from profile even though I wrote them but at least choose which book and cover image is more current to associate with my current profile? Thanks for the help.

Mellie (mellie42) | 639 comments Goodreads doesn't delete books, it is in the TOS, so no matter when the book was written it will always be associated with your author profile.

Keep in mind you are the only one who sees the dashboard, its not what readers viewing your profile see.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) You can mark it as out of print; plus, if there is an in-print edition you can make it the default/primary/featured edition that shows on your author page, search results, series, etc. (which effectively buries the out of print edition unless a member deliberately wishes to catalog that exact edition). It's okay in the book description of the out of print one to link to the goodreads page for the in-print edition (not okay to link to offsite urls and booksellers, even amazon.com, in the book description).

Policy/how-to to mark a book edition out of print or no longer available: https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/3...

Policy and how-to on making a specific edition the primary/default one is in the Author FAQs at top of Librarians group at https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... ; or under help screens at https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/3...

(Only authors can set the primary edition; librarians actually cannot do for you. Any problems setting and you'll need to contact staff at support@goodreads.com.)
