Starting this week with All It Took Was One Look by T. Lanay.

Stacey (staceyissassy) I'm on a Louise Bay marathon at the moment and LOVING IT!!

Finished my ARC of Thrive and loved that one too.

I'm having a really good run at the moment. :-)

Irisheyes | 896 comments Happy New Year everyone! I went 2 whole weeks around Christmas without reading. It was nuts - no time. I think it's been about 10 years since I went that long. LOL

Anyway, after my drought, I read The Art of Running in Heels. It was okay but not as good as some of her other Chinooks books.

I'm in the middle of Man Hands and this one isn't blowing me out of the water either. I can't put my finger on just what it is but it just seems like too much all the way around. Everything seems excessive - the swearing, the sex, the double entendres - and it's all pulling me out of the story.

I think next up is Now That You Mention It. I've been waiting until I have some solid time to devote to it. My daughter graduated college in December. Almost done helping her transition from college life to real life (hahaha). Then the craziness will settle down.

I'm so happy to be reading again! I just finished an ARC of Robyn Carr's April release The Family Gathering, the next in her Sullivan's Crossing series. I loved the characters, but overall the book just seemed too busy. I'm still reading some of those Mary Stewart books I bought a few months ago, and I have started an ARC of Sharon Sala's The Color of Love, Ruby and Peanut's story finally.

Irish, I can't believe your daughter graduated from college. Did she graduate early? It seems as if it was just months ago that she was deciding where to go.

Yes, Janga, she graduated a semester early. Time is flying! I remember having to squeeze my "online time" at Squawk Radio between getting them on and off the bus! Now they're both grown and flown (or almost flown, my son is still away at college) and in different states LOL

I got some good laughs with Man Hands but I know where you are coming from. I actually enjoyed my ARC of Man Card more. It's not as funny but the characters were a bit more real. :-)

message 7: by Leigh-Ayn (new)

Leigh-Ayn | 1214 comments I agree with Irish and Stacey regarding Man Hands.

I am busy reading a series I just sort of stumbled onto! I'm up to book 3 (final book). Its a historical paranormal romance book. I don't think I have read many of historical ones before! Its all about magic (and demons). Really good! Shadowbound by Bec McMaster I had some issues with book 1 but I still inhaled it haha
If you like paranormal try these!

Rachel Hill | 487 comments I’m reading the puzzler from Leigh Ayn this week - so far so good!

Sounds good, I'm going to check them out. The author's name seems familiar. :-)

I miss those Squawk days and the BonBon days too. :)

That's good to know, Stacey. Thanks for the feedback. I'm pretty sure that I already pre-ordered MAN CARD because it's Sarina Bowen and I can't not buy her. LOL I was also thinking that maybe this is a genre issue. This collaboration seems more Chick Lit than Contemporary or New Adult. And I don't think I'm a big Chick Lit fan.

Maybe it is a little Chic Lit but it's definitely more about the hero and heroine than the friends this time. They still play a big part, just not as big as in Man hands. Sarina Bowen has that affect on me too. ;)

Man hands didn’t work for me either. And I love most of her books. Im going to blame it on her co author and I’m not likely to buy the next one in her series

Yeah, I was worried that a lot of readers would think it's OTT. I still got some good laughs, though. ;)
