Ally! I always say I can't choose a favourite because I put so much heart and soul into writing each and it would be like choosing a favourite child. I will say that Burying Water holds a special place in my heart, and I can't explain exactly why. It might be the characters, it might be the Oregon setting, or it might be something entirely different. Keep Her Safe is definitely the book I'm most proud of in terms of the writing and the complexity of the story.

Hello! I listen to music when I'm writing a first draft, but never when I'm revising. I tend to read lines out loud, over and over again until they "sound" right.
I think I have playlists somewhere but honestly, when it comes to my writing music, I choose a song and then throw it on repeat. It becomes background and it sets a specific mood that I want for that particular scene (or in some cases for the entire book.) Changing songs throws the mood off for me.

Hey Cassie! When I'm in writing mode, my number one must-have is a long stretch of time. I can't be doing an hour here, an hour there, while shuffling laundry and running dishes, and answering phones. I need to shut off the world completely for a good block of time and then focus. As far as tangible things go, just my laptop, my office, a closed door, and music if I'm in first draft mode :D

quiet and no distractions. Often when I get a thought about something that has nothing to do with what I'm writing I jot it down on a piece of paper. The more complex the story or characters the more time is necessary.

Usually what helps me with plots is to write down what is supposed to be going on with each of my characters in my books. You don't want to be all over the place with a plot.

People read differently now. Everything is rush-rush. So when people begin to read, if the first chapter of the book doesn't grab them then they stop reading. What I find most difficult is networking.

Hi Bube!
I have a hard time seeing any of my characters as anything other than their own unique individuals. But I would say that I can be as obnoxious as Reese and Kacey sometimes, as suspicious as Maggie sometimes, and as hellbent on gettting answers as Gracie.
