Should work, it looks like there's someone named Ev/Evelyn.

message 202: by Jennifer H (new)

Jennifer H Annika, I did a word search on Amazon for all the E names I could think of and came up with nothing in the green book Predator (Kay Scarpetta, #14) by Patricia Cornwell that I have. So, let me know if you want me to read the 2 Blue book I have or the JD Robb book I have for the mini-challenge.

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 497 comments Hi Team Triangulum!

I'm just stopping by to give a shout out to April for recommending the Stephanie Plum series.

I had stepped away from the series for a while because it was frustrating, but revisit Stephanie, Morelli, Lula and the rest of the gang again was kind of like coming home.

Thanks again for the push to come back to it! Happy reading!!

Check Ev (Evelyn Christian), I seem to find that name a few times throughout the book.

Tina, which edition are you reading?

This one.

Hushed

message 207: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments Good, then it's ok. You've shelved the other one and that wasn't blue enough :)

message 208: by Tina (new)

Tina Creek | 82 comments Yeah, I kinda freaked out when I saw the other cover and wasn’t sure it was going to count. But happy it will!!

message 209: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments The cover with the red dress and the legs won't work, it's not blue enough - only about 44%.

Would you mind switching your shelved edition to the one you are reading. Otherwise we can't use it.

message 210: by Tina (new)

Tina Creek | 82 comments Yeah, of course!

message 211: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments Thank you :D

message 212: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments On a completely different note. I was not happy when I woke up this morning and it was all white! I thought we'd had enough snow this season, but nooo. And we're getting more each minute :(

message 213: by Tina (new)

Tina Creek | 82 comments Done! Let me know if you need me to read another color book and have we decided on which teams we are choosing books from?

message 214: by Annika (last edited Feb 15, 2018 11:12PM) (new)

Annika | 1412 comments Well, we need another green 8 and it doesn't seem like we have many volounteers for the mini challenge, so see if you can find a book for part 1 :)

Oh, and we also need a bunch of reverse books.

message 215: by Tina (new)

Tina Creek | 82 comments I live in California, the almond trees already have blossoms, the other trees have buds and are turning green! Winter completely passed us by. I’m so disappointed!!

message 216: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments I miss the green :(
Now it's all white, which sure looks really nice from the grey and brown. But I absolutely hate the wet and cold.

message 217: by Tina (new)

Tina Creek | 82 comments The green is scary! But there is a book I’ve read previously that I’ll look through and see if I can find an E. I have another 5,9,k and it’s a book 3. If that one will help. I’m almost 85% done with Hushed then I’ll grab a book from a team and read it. As far as the uno challenge I’m wide open if you want to assign me a card.

message 218: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments Yeah, green covers are not fun, they are really hard to find. :(

As for the cards, the ones we have to search for and target are the coloured cards and the reverse ones. The rest we'll probablty manage by reading the books we have in que.

message 219: by Tina (new)

Tina Creek | 82 comments Let me know if this book is green enough! I will happily and totally read it again.Stray

message 220: by Tina (new)

Tina Creek | 82 comments Not only green but it has a character named Ethan!

message 221: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments *slaps head*

Gah I'm an idiot, I actually DO have a green 8, and one I'm scheduled to read this weekend!

Why is it that you always overlook the things right in front of your nose??

I'm reading, How to Wish Upon a Star (Howl at the Moon, #3) by Eli Easton . Which will also fit Team Carina for the mini.

message 222: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments Tina wrote: "Let me know if this book is green enough! I will happily and totally read it again.Stray"

Nice find!

So if Jen reads her green book, and we the ones we just found, that means we can use one of them for the Wild 4. That leaves a blue book to be covered at the end of the month.

message 223: by Tina (new)

Tina Creek | 82 comments So we don’t need a green 8? Lol

message 224: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments Tina wrote: "So we don’t need a green 8? Lol"

Both yes and no, we need to duplicate one of our coloured cards, but not necessarily the green one. It might be a good idea to save one green cover for march. It seems like they are a bit hard to come by.

What do you think?

message 225: by Tina (new)

Tina Creek | 82 comments Okay, that sounds good! I’ll look through what’s been read and pick something? Like I said I’m very open and willing to read whatever to help out. Especially after I saw how far behind we are in points. I told my husband to be prepare for me to lay in bed all weekend reading. Lol

message 226: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments Haha, that does sound like a great weekend!
That would be good, thank you! :D

Is your hubby a reader too?

message 227: by Tina (new)

Tina Creek | 82 comments He reads comic books, but he’s more into video games. He started reading a book a year ago and still hasn’t finished it. So sad.

message 228: by Tina (new)

Tina Creek | 82 comments You’ve probably answered this question but do I read the same book the other person read? One of the colored books?

message 229: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments wow, for more than a year? that's not a good sign :(
But I guess no one is perfect ;)

message 230: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments Tina wrote: "You’ve probably answered this question but do I read the same book the other person read? One of the colored books?"

Well, we need both so go with the book you most want to read? :)

message 231: by Annika (last edited Feb 16, 2018 12:04AM) (new)

Annika | 1412 comments I did a quick check of the cards we have left to fill this month:

February Cards - update

Card # of cards
0
2
1 5
2 6
3 4
4 3
5 4
6 2
9 4
2 Blue 1
8 Green 1 - Jen H / Tina have books that fit
Reverse 4
Skip 4
WILD 1
Wild Draw 4 1 Duplicate any of the colour cards (red 2 excluded)

message 232: by Tina (new)

Tina Creek | 82 comments I think I’ll read the same one you are going to read.

message 233: by Tina (new)

Tina Creek | 82 comments Lol!! So I do need to read the green 8?

message 234: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments You mean a reverse?

Just to make sure, you don't need to read the exact book someone else is reading. Any book previously read (during and before uno) by a team member (not you) is up for grabs.

But if you do want to read that series, you should definietly start with the first book in the series, it's übercute and fun, How to Howl at the Moon (Howl At The Moon #1) by Eli Easton :)

message 235: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments Tina wrote: "Lol!! So I do need to read the green 8?"

Well we need either yours or Jen's as we have 2 of the green 8 cards. But if you or Jen reads it is still to be decided.

message 236: by Tina (new)

Tina Creek | 82 comments I can! Is the book I posted above green enough to qualify?

message 237: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments You mean Stray (Shifters, #1) by Rachel Vincent ?

This is green enough :)

message 238: by April (new)

April Martin Ok- y’all that was a lot to try and read through just now. I’ve completed my most recent book, and am going to the library today. I’ll pull this up on my computer(I can’t see all the links and teams stuff from my phone) in a bit and see what I can find that needs to be read. We still have several books that haven’t been put into the uno spreadsheet in their designated places and several that have not been marked completed (I’ll go update mine today). Are we that far behind in points?

message 239: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments You can have a look at all the points here: Points sheet

We are #15 with 950 points, Team #1 (Jupiter) have 1715 points.

I usually move books onto the sheets once they've been marked as finished or if they fit one of the more difficult cards (reverse, colour).

message 240: by April (new)

April Martin Ok- bear with me. It’s 3 am here. I wasn’t thinking about the whole complete one hand at a time part. So I think you guys cleared up the green and the wild, what do you need me to do?

message 241: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments What are you doing up at 3 am? ;)

We don't need to complete one hand at a time, that's just me filling the books as they finish. We can read books for any and at any time. So any books you feel like reading is good.

- and if it happens to fit the mini-challenge even better :)

Well, we need 4 more reverse filled and those are usually ones you need to look for and can be tough to fill.

I usually get up between 4 and 430. I just woke up early and didn't want to feel like crap all day, so I got up. I am going to go back up and read the mini challenge now that I am on my computer and can actually read the whole thing. I will check them against you and Teddy to see if you guys have already read any of them so that they can count for both.

message 243: by Annika (last edited Feb 16, 2018 02:27AM) (new)

Annika | 1412 comments That is way to early to start your day!

If you have any questions about the mini challenge, I'm happy to help you out :)

message 244: by Tina (new)

Tina Creek | 82 comments Just finished my blue 3 and added it to the spreadsheet. I’ll start on the green 8 in the morning. Hope everyone has a good night and a great weekend of reading!!!

We’re in 15th place so we have a lot of catching up to do!

LOL I have tons, but I wont get into that right now. I think I understand. Here is what I have found. A Discovery of Witches appears to be on several teams lists. Kuiper, Musca and Ceres. So unless others are reading from them, I can save that one to count towards the two from each team you havent read part? right?
In the meantime Confessions of a ShopaholicA Breath of Snow and AshesChallenger Deep The Nightingale are all listed and popular, because I don't have every one on my friends list, I thought it might be faster to just ask if theyve read any of them, so it could count from the mini challenge and a reverse.

Challenger deep and discovery of witches also count for blue.

message 246: by April (last edited Feb 16, 2018 02:56AM) (new)

April Martin A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1) by Deborah Harkness I just realized it didn't post the dang cover. I have already completed the nightingale, but I did it through audiobook, and I wouldn't mind rereading it. The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah A Breath of Snow and Ashes (Outlander, #6) by Diana Gabaldon Challenger Deep by Neal Shusterman Confessions of a Shopaholic (Shopaholic, #1) by Sophie Kinsella

It is like coming home! Each time a new one comes out, though I wish she'd just choose already!!!

message 248: by Annika (last edited Feb 16, 2018 03:03AM) (new)

Annika | 1412 comments I did a quick check for you as I have everyone on my list :)

Confessions of a Shopaholic - is a no go
A Breath of Snow and Ashes - Read by Jennifer
The Nightingale - Read by Teddie
Challenger Deep - Also a no go
A Discovery of Witches - Makena has read it

message 249: by April (new)

April Martin Ok- I’ll do a discovery of witches. It covers the blue 2, reverse, and mini challenge. Not all of them I don’t believe, but can be used for two of them:)

message 250: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments I love it when we have so many good choices! :)
