message 110: by April (new)

April Martin ok, I saw somewhere how to find the color for the books, but I can't find it now! gah.

message 111: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1011 comments Here you go April: Tineye. Right-click on the book cover image, save the image link, then paste it into the form at Tineye. (Be sure to uncheck the "Exclude background color..." filter to get a true percentage.)

Ok, and can you refresh what the percentage has to be to matter?

message 113: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments Over 50% :)

Annika | 1412 comments How are you all doing? found any good books?

message 116: by April (new)

April Martin I’m a little over halfway through one and about a quarter of the way through another. Anyone have any suggestions for the best book they’ve ever read? I figured we could use it as a repeat card too:)

Any specific genre? or genre you don't read?

Not particularly. I do a lot of historical fiction, murder mystery/psychological thriller. I haven't found a genre that I hated as of yet.

message 119: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments For murder mysteries, have you tried any of Karen Rose books? They are awesome!
For a more cozy feel I read It's Murder, My Son this series this fall and enjoyed them. The dog is the hero. (Though to be fair, skip the last 3 or so books in the series, they aren't that good).
The Drowned Girls was another one I quite enjoyed.

Another few series I'm enjoying that you might like are The Veronica Speedwell series, the Lady Sherlock series, and the book I'm reading now, The Strange Case of the Alchemist's Daughter.

message 121: by Tina (new)

Tina Creek | 82 comments I found a book, only 14% in, that covers a five and a nine card. It’s a ya paranormal called Inception by Bianca Scarsoni. And has a character named Nikki in it.

message 122: by Jennifer H (new)

Jennifer H Is there an easy way to check and see if another team member has read the book you are reading?

message 123: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments There are two easy options to check

1) If you friend everyone on the team, you will see who's read it (shelved it etc) on the book page. They will be listed after your review.
2) Compare books with your team members.
Go to someones page, under their presentation you will see "Compare books" Click on that and a list with every book (or a selection of 100) will show up. If you want to refine it; go to the margine to the right and choose "Read" for their shelves.

Tina Creek | 82 comments I just finished my first book and of course I can't add it to the spreadsheet Teddie created, tonight cause Amazon doesn't play well with Google. Anyway, I have a question. Are we playing one hand and before moving on to the next one? I know everyone is reading whatever then finding where it fits but for some reason (Capricorn) my brain is forcing me to pick books that match cards. For instance the book i just finished fits both a 5 and 9 (searched for a couple hours to find one that did!!) Anyway, my (Capricorn) brain needs to know which hand to chose a card from. Lol

Sorry for the rambling...

message 129: by Tina (new)

Tina Creek | 82 comments Scratch not being able to add it, apple has no issues with google!

No, no finishing the hands in order. that would *really* make things tough.

If you want to search for specific books try to find the hardest ones:
- Colour cards
- Reverse
- Letter V
- Letter I
- Letter N (this is our most common card, so it's good to keep a lookout for these)

message 131: by Annika (new)

Annika | 1412 comments I finished Closer Than You Think earler today and loved it. So if you are on the market for some suspense this is highly recommended!

How are you guys doing, finding anything good to read?

Tina Creek | 82 comments I found a book that works for a red 2 card but it’s barely above 100 pages... 118 to be exact. Need an opinion on whether I should go for it or find something a little better? More pages, I mean.

message 137: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 529 comments I believe as long as it is at least 101 pages it counts. I would go for it

118 pages is fine, but if it's a children's books you might want to check the word count to be on the safe side. Otherwise go for it :)

A while ago, we asked you to head to THIS THREAD to post three (3) favourite books/series, up to a maximum of five (5) for those of us who have a hard time deciding ;-), you would recommend to others.

As some of you have already guessed, this will in some way be incorporated into an upcoming optional mini challenge. (Nope, our lips are sealed still, we are not going to tell you what it is :-p)

However, a surprisingly large number of players have not posted any recommendations yet. Unfortunately, that might make things difficult for your fellow players as well as yourselves.

Please, please, post 3-5 recommendations in the above mentioned thread. If you don't, we may be forced to take unwanted action as a result.
