Karen ⊰✿ | 3767 comments I finished Turtles All the Way Down by John Green which left me a bit teary and sad. :(
It was an easy read though and I do love John Green.

It works for part 2 of the mini challenge also

Karen ⊰✿ | 3767 comments Mini challenge update

Part 2:
we don't have anything currently claimed for:

Andromeda

Betelgeuse

Carina

Eris

Hydrus

Jupiter

Mercury

Tucana

and a few more teams with only one spot claimed.

If you can check any books you may be able to read over the next 10 days and how they may connect with any of those book recommendations that would be great.

Karen ⊰✿ | 3767 comments P.S I found another team reading Wishful Drinking for team Mensa (woman in white on cover matches with their recommendation of Unfiltered) and it is an audio of just over 3 hours I can get from the library so I'm going to squeeze that in this week ;)

So if you're stuck for ideas it can be good to stalk the other teams s/sheets. teehee. The links to all the sheets are on the "current points" spreadsheet here

K (kai_la) | 25 comments Finished All the Things We Never Knew Chasing the Chaos of Mental Illness by Sheila Hamilton - and it can stretch pretty much any direction:

- Haumea: Still Alice (about mental illness)
- Pluto: The Bronze Horseman (snow on cover)

The following fit because there are tree trunks on the cover
- Eris: Let the Right One In
- Grus: Written in Red
- Kuiper: Written in Red
- Milky Way: Silver Thaw
- Musca: Written in Red
- Neptune: The Passage

The following fit because there's a single person on the cover facing away from reader
- Andromeda: A Monster Calls
- Betelgeuse: A Man Called Ove
- Carina: The Girl With All the Gifts
- Ceres: The Yard
- Jupiter: A Man Called Ove
- Mensa: The Ice Princess
- Mercury: A Thousand Splendid Suns
- Saturn: A Pale View of Hills
- Tucana: Dark Fever

Karen ⊰✿ | 3767 comments I've found my next kindle book. I'm going to read The Family Next Door which connects to team Carina (The secret keeper) as both are by Australian authors and both are about secrets that family keep, and both covers have a house with big sky

Tina | 768 comments Hi Team Sculptor! This is Tina from Team Neptune, checking in to let you know I've read Hawke (Cold Fury Hockey, #5) by Sawyer Bennett , which is the 5th book in the series Cold Fury Hockey ( Alex (Cold Fury Hockey, #1) by Sawyer Bennett was recommended by someone from this team).
I give it 4*, I didn't know there were so many wonderful men in the world of hockey but so far I've liked all of them:)

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 1505 comments Finished A Perilous Undertaking (Veronica Speedwell, #2) by Deanna Raybourn .

Thanks! We can't connect based on genre, but there is a boy and girl on the cover? Is that too weak - what do you all think? Perhaps there will be something about the story that connects a bit better?

Brandy (thebacklist) | 48 comments Hey Team Sculptor,

I'm stopping by from Team Ceres to thank you for suggesting Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. While it has been sitting on my shelf for a while, it was not my favorite book. I would rate it at a 3 star. Hopefully I will enjoy something else by the author more. Just not my 'cup a tea'.

Karen ⊰✿ | 3767 comments I finished Wishful Drinking by Carrie Fisher for part 2 (Team Mensa).
I didn't realise how funny Carrie Fisher was. And the audio was narrated by her so also tragic to listen to her flippantly talk about things, like dying

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) | 66 comments Hi team Sculptor.
I'm from team Neptune and I have read Ceremony in Death because someone from your team recommended Naked in Death. I recently started this series mostly from curiosity because i wondered how it can be popular after 40+ sequels... And I got hooked. I like main characters and their dynamics and mystery is just intriguing enough to keep me reading. :)

message 395: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1016 comments Hi Team Sculptor - dropping by from Team Triangulum to say thanks for putting the Cold Fury Hockey series on your list. I read Alex for the mini. I’m from a hockey town myself, so I’m predisposed to like the hockey backdrop to the story. I liked that Sutton is an emotionally mature character, with self-respect and backbone. Thanks for the suggestion!
