Please do not throw tomatoes, but Shakespeare is just not for me. I like the ultimate PREMISE of the book and I like the overall story, but I cannot follow the old-timey language. And there just seems to be so many words about nothing. Or maybe they are about life-altering story points, but I am not smart enough for them.
But, the ensemble performance featuring Ian McKellan was AMAZING! I listened and followed along in my book, and the listening/reading experience was great. IMO, the best way to get through Shakespeare. And ultimately what bumped this from 2 stars to 3.
Now, on to Hag-Seed...
