Rhian (rhianima) | 33 comments Hi everyone - I see a lot of people dropping review requests, links and so on here and on Facebook. I was wondering how effective that was (I've only picked up two reviews by responding to review threads).

If you're struggling to get the kind of engagement you want, have you considered joining a review circle? There's an excellent one on Goodreads https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group... and I've set up a group on Facebook. So far, I've set up two review circles within 24 hours. The turnaround does depend on the participants but it seems to be working well.

If you'd be interested in joining my FB group (we aim to be able to set up threads fast - even faster when new people join) then click here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/14117...

Christina Michaels (chrismichaels) | 7 comments Rhain - hi! I've sent out roughly ten review copies and had two reviews appear from those (one on amazon and a different one on goodreads.)

There is a group that does reading rounds that is much more successful: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/list_...

I'm glad you use the word circle; Amazon now forbids reciprocal reviews. The way the reading rounds work is that everyone reads four books. With ten people, this means reciprocal reviews are avoided. Right now they have a circle open for work "in this world" that has four spots in it.

I'm in the same pain as everyone else. I'm glad to see us all fighting to make our work get read. Short of paying for reviews, I'm not sure what else to do to get more. I've followed all the advice and have 23 (off a November release.)

Christina Michaels (chrismichaels) | 7 comments ...the group I recommended is the group that Rhain posted about. Pretend I'm standing behind her, seconding everything she says.

Rhian (rhianima) | 33 comments Haha, yes - it's a good group. The only reason I've gone to FB was because the same faces keep popping up. It would be good to get some new blood.

Free for all on Kindle 19-23 Jan

Your review will be most welcome

Refined exotic escapism: An intense, adult, character-driven study of the absurd where humorous overtones mask a graphic, deeply subversive, perverse undercurrent in an ancient world adventure and epic love story like no other.

Cursed from birth to remember everything except his own name an 11-year-old village idiot ('savant fou') creates chaos, outrage and regime change in Eudaemon (Aden) in 534CE when he, Andromeda and Scheherazade, goddesses of the hunt and fables join Hermes, messenger of the gods in his epic search for his long lost true love, Lesbia. Discovering on their chaotic way the scrolls containing the true Epectesy of St. Gregory of Nyssa, revealing something so shocking and socially explosive it was hidden for centuries - the key to the eternal cerebral orgasm. And the emancipation of women.

Juliana Stevens | 1 comments "Her Secret Friend"

A fantasy romance. Reviews are greatly appreciated! If you're interested, you can email me at juliana.stevens@yahoo.com

In the wintry world of the culmins, there are rules… Kaya James doesn't believe in most of them. One must marry and start a family early on, and it is well known around her village that lifestyle is not for her.
So, why would anyone send her a gift with a sweet note attached, leaving it unsigned? Could it have been from her longtime friend or the handsome hunter who knows just how to work her nerves?
Men are not romantic, at least that's what she always thought. But her secret friend is making her second guess everything. With gifts that keep coming, and an overbearing mother pushing her to marry someone- anyone- what's a strong-minded culmin woman like Kaya to do?
She has always been defiant of the rules, proudly so. But with each note received more enthralling than the next, and a little help from the Paragons watching from afar, Kaya's heart may not be as safe from love as she once believed.
