Kathryn (an80slady6886) | 548 comments I completed Love You (The Garner Brothers) by Stacy Finz for task #117 A sandy beach.

Does this Little Town on the Prairie (Little House, #7) by Laura Ingalls Wilder work for a blue dress, task 108? The girl in the corner is wearing blue. If it does, I'll take it.

message 402: by Jan, Moderator (new)

Jan | 20942 comments Thanks for the update Kathryn. I'm not feeling like this works for the blue dress though since all I can see is the arm. Sorry!

Kathryn (an80slady6886) | 548 comments OK, I'll check back later if I have something that works

Finished #113, fire, but with another book:

Burned in Broken Hearts Junction by Meg Muldoon

Burned in Broken Hearts Junction (Cozy Matchmaker Mystery #1) by Meg Muldoon

I liked it a lot

if you don't think it's too small, I could take:

67. Earth, as seen from Outer Space (not a globe) with

Planet Fever by Peter Stier Jr.

Jan | 20942 comments I'll take it Rosa - let me know what you want to add to the list.

message 406: by [deleted user] (new)

Thank you!

I want to add: a famous person (not the author her-/himself)

message 407: by Jan, Moderator (new)

Jan | 20942 comments sounds good Rosa!

message 408: by Teri-K (new)

Teri-K | 1270 comments Finished #126 - Woman with hair in bun, with Pen on Fire A Busy Woman's Guide to Igniting the Writer Within by Barbara DeMarco-Barrett by Barbara DeMarco-Barrett. I got a lot out of this book and plan on rereading it when life slows down a bit.

I don't have another match right now unless this counts as a blue dress.
Clean Sweep (Innkeeper Chronicles, #1) by Ilona Andrews .

I'll check back for the verdict. :)

message 409: by Jan, Moderator (new)

Jan | 20942 comments Thanks Dee! Will add you to the list.

Glad you enjoyed your book Teri. I'm going to say no. I don't really think it's a dress she's wearing.

That's fine. I think it's more of a robe, but I thought I'd check. :)

message 413: by Barb (new)

Barb | 1647 comments If a jack-o-lantern counts as a vegetable, I can take #90 on the list :)

If so, my new task would be a hearse or hearse-looking vehicle

message 414: by Jan, Moderator (new)

Jan | 20942 comments Barb - I think that will be fine but would you post the cover so I can see it?

message 425: by [deleted user] (last edited Aug 11, 2018 12:13PM) (new)

I have a question: 'an artist painting" does that mean a person who is painting or a painting by an artist? (I have neither, just wondering)

message 426: by Jan, Moderator (new)

Jan | 20942 comments I will take either one Rosa!

message 427: by Jan, Moderator (new)

Jan | 20942 comments You sure like those long books Jillian!! I'll get you marked down.

message 431: by Jillian (new)

Jillian | 1573 comments Jan, I started the book in January (granted I took several months break once I hit 6%). I just made it to 20% (leaving me with 600ish pages to go). It is the oldest book in my TBR list so I really need to read it to complete a few challenges.

message 432: by Jan, Moderator (new)

Jan | 20942 comments Good luck!!

message 433: by Jillian (new)

Jillian | 1573 comments Thanks!

City Boy (Hot Off the Ice, #1) by A.E. Wasp

Next item:

Police car/station/box

message 437: by Jan, Moderator (new)

Jan | 20942 comments Thanks Rosa! I have to ask....what's a police box?

message 438: by Jillian (new)

Jillian | 1573 comments Jan, I had to google it. It is like a telephone booth but for police.

This is from Wikipedia "A police box is a public telephone kiosk or callbox for the use of members of the police, or for members of the public to contact the police. It was introduced in the United States in 1877 and was used in the United Kingdom throughout the 20th century from the early 1920s.[1] Unlike an ordinary callbox, its telephone was located behind a hinged door so it could be used from the outside, and the interior of the box was, in effect, a miniature police station for use by police officers to read and fill in reports, take meal breaks and even temporarily hold prisoners until the arrival of transport. "

message 439: by Jan, Moderator (new)

Jan | 20942 comments Thanks Jillian! I'm going to see if I can find images.

message 440: by Jan, Moderator (new)

Jan | 20942 comments And I found some!! Learned something new :)

message 441: by Jillian (new)

Jillian | 1573 comments Me too!

message 442: by Jan, Moderator (new)

Jan | 20942 comments The most interesting thing in your blurb was that it was introduced in the US and we didn't even know what they were. I've never seen one here.

message 443: by Jillian (new)

Jillian | 1573 comments I just asked my husband. He knew what it was and was surprised I didn't. I guess people who watch Dr. Who know what they are.

message 444: by [deleted user] (new)

Jillian's husband saved your honor, ladies ;)

message 445: by Barb (new)

Barb | 1647 comments I don't even see telephone booths around anymore. There's a whole generation growing up that won't have a clue what they are, which boggles my mind :)

message 446: by Jillian (new)

Jillian | 1573 comments It made me feel old when I was reading a book to my kids and I had to explain to them what a telephone cord was.

message 447: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished my couple #114 City Boy nice romance with very little angst, right as I like it

message 448: by Jan, Moderator (new)

Jan | 20942 comments That was fast Rosa! Glad you enjoyed it :)

message 449: by Karen (new)

Karen | 621 comments Push button phones came into mainstream popularity as my kids were growing up. I am always way behind the curve so when their friends would come over and ask to use the phone to touch base with their moms, I would send them to the kitchen phone (the only phone) where they would stop dead and stare at the dial, having no idea how to make it work! That came up in many conversations for many, many years after that! My kitchen phone (one of two that I own now) is now pushbutton but still has a cord dangling from it! Way behind the curve. :)

message 450: by Jan, Moderator (last edited Aug 18, 2018 08:19AM) (new)

Jan | 20942 comments Karen - do you still have the dial phone?? They are coming back in style being vintage. It might be even worth something...lol.
