Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments The BOM is Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Synopsis
After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.

Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the king's council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she'll serve the kingdom for four years and then be granted her freedom. Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilarating. But she's bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her ... but it's the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.

Then one of the other contestants turns up dead ... quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.

This story is a re-telling of Cinderella , hopefully, you will enjoy it, either way, let us know what you think or thought.

Tina Bartz | 678 comments I have this one, too. I also have been putting it off. Since this is the BOM, maybe that will be an incentive for me to read it now, lol!

I read this series in 2017. I really enjoyed the whole series. I'm kinda lost without it. Not ready for a re-read yet though. :)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I think I am going to catch up on this one this month. People seem to love this series so I am looking forward to it.

Tina Bartz | 678 comments Well, I am late to the party, but I started this series yesterday...I am reading The Assassin's Blade (Throne of Glass, #0.1-0.5) by Sarah J. Maas (the prequel novellas). I only have The Assassin and the Empire (Throne of Glass, #0.5) by Sarah J. Maas left so I should finish today.

Sandra | 4734 comments Glad you're enjoying it Tina. I still haven't picked it up. Time keeps beating me.

Thethriftybooklady (readingdiva8511) | 109 comments literally just decided to read this today and then saw that it was the BOM. won't be able to finish it though before the end of the month.

Tina Bartz | 678 comments I finished The Assassin's Blade (Throne of Glass, #0.1-0.5) by Sarah J. Maas then immediately started Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1) by Sarah J. Maas . (5 stars) I then read #2 Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass, #2) by Sarah J. Maas and I finished it last night. I also own the next two e-books but I may take a break before starting them. I got the novellas and #1-4 at different times, on sale. Guess I will have to break down and buy the other two now at full price, lol.

Thethriftybooklady (readingdiva8511) | 109 comments i just finished this it only took a week. Im posting my review since it basically says what i thought.

I enjoyed the storyline and plot. However, i found Celaena a little annoying. She is supposed to be this awesome tough girl with a heart but she also came off a bit shallow with her thoughts on clothes and such. The dialogue was also a little lame and came off more like a free e-book that hadn't been edited well and not a book published by a major publisher.

With that being said i did enjoy the book enough to read the next one and look forward to it even.
