#116 Snow in Love by Melissa de la Cruz Snow in Love

3.5/5 stars

This is a cute and cheesy collection of romantic short stories. They were all super predictable but had adorable plots. I liked the first and last stories the best!

#117 The Gift by Cecelia Ahern The Gift

3.5/5 stars

This is a bit of a heavy story to read around Christmas. But it does remind us to cherish what we have.

In Cold Blood#120 In Cold Blood by Truman Capote

4/5 stars

This was a fascinating story and Truman's prose is somehow extremely fitting. I was drawn into the story for most of the time. I got a tad disengaged toward the end; the reason why I'm docking it 1 star. I wonder if Anthony Hopkins was inspired by Perry for his role as Hannibal Lecter. I also find it interesting that Truman was friends with Harper Lee. They both have extensive portions of their books dedicated to law enforcement and lawyers.

#121 One Day in December by Josie Silver One Day in December

5/5 stars

This one caught me completely off-guard. I sobbed so much. The story was gut-wrenching and lovely.

#122 Magician Apprentice (The Riftwar Saga, #1) by Raymond E. Feist Magician: Apprentice

5/5 stars

What an epic quest! This reads like Lord of the Rings mixed with Harry Potter. The journey is an epic one. The war is great. The characters are relatable. I think I just got sucked into a fantastic series.

#123 Tell the Wolves I'm Home by Carol Rifka Brunt Tell the Wolves I'm Home

5/5 stars

This story is deeply moving and quite melancholic. It makes the reader feel in often uncomfortable ways. We all need that sometimes. The prose is lovely and fits the theme perfectly.

I definitely have to re-read soon. I miss Pug and Tomas! My husband and I still talk about this series! We both didn't continue on after A Darkness at Sethanon, I think, the original trilogy/quartet. There are so many spin-off series now!

Yeah the spin-offs are overwhelming. I looked through the list and couldn't even follow, lol. I am going to focus on the main series first and then see if I can keep up :)

It was so much better than I thought. I had expected a cheesy romance novel in a winter theme (and I do love those), but this was more of a character study centering around love - love for friends, love for family, and love for a significant other.
