Michael Connelly helps as a screenwriter for the TV series and says it’s impacted his writing of the book series. Did you notice a difference with this book from the earlier stories?

[Robin]

The last couple of books seem to flow better for me. There isn't as many descriptions of what roads he is driving to get to a particular place and things like that. It's like he has edited out the minute details that don't mean a thing to the story.

I also noticed that there was less scenic ramblings and internal musings. The stories are more cohesive.

He’s become a more nimble writer with the books. I’ve heard from other authors who also are screenwriters that this is a natural outcome.
