The votes were tight. Had another writer voted the results may have been affected.

message 102: by Christene (new)

Christene Britton-Jones | 188 comments Congratulations to the winning entries and all authors who submitted stories, well done thanks to a great challenge posted by Steve.

Thank-you for voting for my story this month, you really don't know how much it means to me. I had decided that I was going to stop writing this year as I didn't feel I had the spirit to continue.

Sometimes encouragement along with constructive criticism helps so much in these cases and that is why I love to comment on all who write each month.

Technically if you still haven't received Elaine's votes, her story is not eligible to be voted on as per the rules that you have given. But it was such a beautiful story and no money winnings are in play.

Steve Bridger (dooch) | 131 comments Glenda - just to clarify - I adopted exisitng rules. I did not introduce any new ones or made any changes. Thanks

Elaine's story was a winner in terms of what fellow writers thought.

I get NO emails and can't remember that there are pages 1,2,3, and therefore lost track of everybody about Jan 14th - thinking there were no more comment. Guess I even missed the voting!

message 111: by Elaine (new)

Elaine Faber (elainefabergoodreadscom) | 142 comments I am so sorry. I'm not familiar with Goodreads and was not aware that any comments were made after 01-14. I never receive any email or notice from GR's, so kept looking every few days. Couldn't understand why no one commented. Did not notice pages 1,2,3. (Duh!!!) Must say, I lost track of the last few days of the month , thus today, seeing the date, started thinking. How do I vote? Oh, no! Too late. And then noticed 1,2,3 pages. Sorry folks. Any idea how to get notices from GR's when posts are made? Congrats to the Rebecca and Christine! My loss!!!!

Steve Bridger (dooch) | 131 comments Please can someone within this group make it a project to help Elaine and maybe others with a Tutorial on using Goodreads and posting messages and how to receive emails

And for example to tick the boxes at the end of these posting boxes for them to receive email updates.

I now have to get on with writing myself and I'm glad to say things are starting to move on the printing of books to use as promotional tools - as opposed to them being published.

I sent Elaine a personal email, but I saw just now that Christene posted after her in the February thread.

Elaine Faber (elainefabergoodreadscom) | 142 comments I have friended Christene on Goodreads. Suggest She contact me via facebook or email- Elaine.Faber@mindcandymysteries.com.

I have 'ticked' the box on Goodreads about receiving emails but do not get notifications. I'll try to monitor the Feb contest thread more often to keep up with things. Will try to send in a story later this month.
