I've been doing that more and more too, though it depends how into the book I am usually. It's odd how quickly your mind can adapt to listening to 2x speed. I saw Scribd has recently added 3x speed though. No thank-you.

I'm usually between 1.45x and 1.60x. But I just listened to Gone by Michael Grant at 1.75x which is the highest I've gone! You really have to train your ear to it! My husband just hears gibberish! lol

These next two came about because I had two Roald Dahl books and there were no audiobooks for each individual book and I had to get them as a compilation with other Roald Dahl books. Which was fine because of all the them, I had only read Fantastic Mr. Fox and I LOVED that book [and the movie]. I was on a wait-list for a L O N G time on OD and they finally came in today so in the midst of being buried in books, I am listening to these. :-)

I've definitely seen all the movie adaptations. Except Fantastic Mr. Fox. Didn't catch that one. But they were all developed (except BFG recently) when I was growing up so they were just there! I'm so tempted to buy the 15-pack set on Amazon!

They're remaking The Witches right? The one from my childhood with Anjelica Huston WAS terrifying. I had nightmares! And I watched it last year or the year before and my childhood fear was entirely correct. When they turn into witches they are nightmare fuel. lol

All my plans for this summer fell through so I was able to keep the pace from winter. :-)
And audiobooks really do make it go faster. Mostly. Except on days when you just are so tired you aren't comprehending what you are listening to [that was today for me].

Today I could not concentrate at all. We had my three nieces here for 4 days and I didn't read/listen at all during that time and I think today was still recovery mode [O M GOSH they have the energy]. And of course I am completely buried in books that arrived from the library so this "time off" needs to end ASAP. LOL
