Shelby Suderman | 2180 comments While Scribd doesn't use the credit system anymore, they do have a limit to how much you can use per month. I've been listening to a bunch of their audiobooks one after another, so it doesn't surprise me that I've hit it for this pay period. Lol.

Also, I found this short video on the process of narrating audiobooks if your interested.

I have run into that as well, but I have found that its mostly for the "newer" books that get held for a month. IDK. I am not sure what the limit is but I have always had something to listen to even when I have stuff that is "available soon"

Joanne, for me, this has been the best money spent ever. Since I am trying to read only what I own, what I would have normally been spent on books totally exceeds the fee for this. I totally get needing to watch money though. We will see how long I can keep it.

Owen Meany is a tough book - there are so many slow parts [at least there were for me], but it truly is an amazing read and worthwhile of the read. You just have to have the patience to plow through.

I loved that book! Even knowing what was coming, it was such a kick in the gut... but I couldn't stop reading. How was the audio version? I've got some audiobooks by Allan Corduner that I've really enjoyed, but I'm not sure I could handle TBT if I weren't in control of the pacing, lol!

Now that I am used to the cadence of the book [it is oddly written], I am loving the narrator. I was not a fan of the prologue and was preparing myself to be one of the few that disliked the book, but just about the time I had that thought, it picked up and WHAM I was sucked in and now I am loving it.
We are reading it in a week so we have split up the chapters fairly well. I missed yesterday and so I had a lot to listen to today and it was almost too much, so I know what you mean about needing to pace yourself.

So far I am loving it and it is both interesting and very well written. I am 100% fully invested in these characters and I love how Death is the narrator and cannot seem to leave these people. even when he has business elsewhere. It makes it very interesting.

It is really kind of crazy. But I will tell you, that audiobooks make books go so much faster IMO. Because I am not distracted by other things [that make you put your book down etc] AND I can do things while listening too. I am really amazed though still at how well it is going. :-)

I listed to audiobooks at 2x speed :)

My husband says I'm a weirdo. I think when I first started listening to MP3's I found some of them went too slow. So I sped it up and now I am used to it. When I play them at the normal speed it makes me anxious that the reading is so slow...hahah
