Steven, around what year did you read this book?
What's the time period and location (country, region)?
What's the genre - mystery, crime, horror, psychological thriller, romance suspense, etc.?
Please add plot details and genre to your topic header using the "edit" link on the desktop website (not mobile app). Someone is more likely to recognize your book. Just ask if you'd like help with this.

Woman is made to go and live with a troubled and controlling man, to his ramshackle sheep farm to learn to shear and tend to his sheep. I forget the exact premise. When she can get away, she socialized with a strange and bohiemian sort of characters, one of whome she grows fond of. Back at the farm, sheep are being killed by something, one by one. This is all I really remember.

Just found it! Title is "All the birds, singing". Thank you, everyone, for all your help.--- Steve M.
