Sounds like they're looking into going into the global marketplace, but it might be a while.

Its because of geographic restrictions.
"When publishers decide to publish a work, they acquire the rights to distribute that particular audiobook in certain regions of the world. Frequently, the rights for an audiobook are split among several companies, each of whom publish for different countries. Audible must abide by these restrictions, though it may occasionally inconvenience the customer." (From audible site)
This is really interesting. I looked up ACX's response to you, Maria, and it came up under their Publishing FAQ (https://kdp.amazon.com/en_US/help/top...) as the answer to the question: "I live outside of the US and cannot provide a W9. Is [publishing with] ACX open to me?" Since you do live in the US and own the rights to NTS' audio yourself, it's really strange that they provided this answer. Perhaps they were confused and didn't understand that you are trying to publish it for audiences in the EU and wider Europe?

I finally did it guys! My sister is a true convert after reading Navigating the Stars. She keeps asking me when the next book will be out in the UK. She has also just finished Scent of Magic, and now doesn't trust anyone!

(It releases in Aus/NZ in November).
