Of Cork’s three children, Stephen is the one most connected to his Ojibwe roots. Do you think his traumatic history eased by his relationship with Henry made the difference or has it always been a part of him?

Phrynne | 607 comments I am sure it must always have been a part of him and he would have been aware that his father has a strong connection to his roots too. However Henry must have made a difference to the extent to which Stephen is connected.

He’s the only child that looks like Cork and he spent a lot of time with him before that awful abduction. His relationship with Henry had to have impacted him quite deeply, especially since it seemed to have helped. And, Stephen’s insightful on his own. It’s probably a combination of all three.
