ETA: by "misses a month" I mean they don't get all 5 books read, not that they totally skipped a month.

Original post: My The Really, Really, Really, Really, Hard 2018 Challenge! (msg 30)

What I meant by reading the books in the corresponding month was so newcomers didn't come in and want to run the challenge from April 2018 to March of 2019. I figured spelling it out would be best. That being said, if they don't complete a month, they can always try to "cobble together" a month by mixing and matching from previous years. I had to do it myself for this month! I just couldn't get a 5th new release book! (Feel free to check out my post for what I did for January!)
Your challenge for this month looks fine to me!

No, that's not how I have the rules. In previous years, you could only substitute once, but I removed that for my runs of it. You can substitute as needed, with no limits on the substitutions.

Sorry to hear that, Cindy! Good luck to you!

A Wrinkle in Time is fine. Any movie that is being released this year that is based on a book would be fine too, even if it's not being released until December 30th!
TV Movies, though, I have to say no, because the task is listed as "The Oscars! Read 5 books that were made into movies.", so we'd have to go by the rules of the Academy for a "winner". The rules state "All eligible motion pictures, unless otherwise noted (see Paragraph 9, below), must be:
a. feature length (defined as over 40 minutes),
b.publicly exhibited by means of 35mm or 70mm film, or in a 24
or 48 frame progressive scan Digital Cinema format with a minimum projector resolution of 2048 by 1080 pixels, source image format conforming to ST 428...
c. for paid admission in a commercial motion picture theater in Los Angeles County...".
Since TV Movies don't meet requirement c for an Oscar, they really don't fit the task. You can check out the Oscars Rules at http://www.oscars.org/sites/oscars/fi...

I have The Infinity War stashed on my comixology account for more than a year. Might be a great opportunity to dig into that one.

Not a problem! And I agree, it would be a great time to read The Infinity War!

I'm going to say that the majority of the book setting has to be in space. If they go down to a planet for a short mission, that's fine, but if the book starts out in space and then spends over 50% of the rest of the plot on some planet doing something, then that wouldn't count.

Yes, I will allow graphic novels to be used, for every task prompt, not just the Star Wars ones. However, for May specifically, your focus should be on the Star Wars graphic novels, or the fifth graphic novel of a series (for the Cinco de Mayo prompt).

Thanks

"The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child defines child as "a human being below the age of 18 years unless under the law applicable to the child, majority is attained earlier"."
Who am I to argue with the United Nations? As long as those teenagers are 17 and younger, you may count those books for the children requirement.

I didn't realize there were no page limits!"
Yeah, I'm a stickler for spelling things out, but I inherited this challenge and didn't change the rules that much. Generally, if I don't specifically say that there is an "XX page minimum", then there is no page minimums/limits for the challenge.
