At 8.30 pm last night I had 50 pages left of my twelfth book of the challenge, Gilgamesh by Joan London. It was either finish the 50 pages or go out and drink in the new year with friends. Guess which choice won? But I will post the eleven I did read and the twelfth I am determined to finish today, slightly late.

Just finished Gilgamesh. Five stars from me, I really enjoyed Joan London's graceful style. My review here https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
So I have completed my twelve chosen books slightly late and happy to say that this year I ended up reading more Australian authors than usual, these twelve plus quite a number of others.Male Authors

Thank you to our hardworking conveners. I've enjoyed the challenge and read some books I would never have read and a few I have been meaning to read for some time. Onto 2019!
Kerri_M wrote: "PS - I know the Mods are always looking for new interesting ways to challenge us, but this was such a good one, I wouldn't mind if you repeated it in 2019!"I agree with you Kerri, this was a really good challenge for me. I think the categories gave us all great scope for our reading selections. The criteria for 2019 have already been published, but perhaps the Mods will consider repeating this one in a future year.
Thanks Brenda and Odette. :)Congratulations Jazzy and Carol! Well done ladies! Great work by you both! :)
Kerri wrote: "At least you competed Jazz. I didn’t read a single book from the challenge and couldn’t even make my reading goal for 2018, but here’s to a new year, and another challenge!!!"Don't worry Kerri! Now we start on a clean slate :)
This was my first introduction to Aussie Authors and I met so many new ones. Let's go on together!
Thank you so much Krystal :D
I managed to read the highest level with 33 books read... missed 3 male Aussie authors. Was still a fun challenge!
Kylie wrote: "Excellent work, and many congratulations to all finishers - Kim Marie, Kathryn, Mima, Kim, Odette, Nicola and Michelle. Great work too Jess! :) And Jazzy, I'm sure you can do it, you've after all..."
Thanks Kylie, I had a lot of fun with this challenge. Your own effort was outstanding with so many 5 star reads....well done!!
